A NOTE FROM TEAMBACKERS What does being a part of NCAA Division II and the NSIC really mean?

• It’s making graduation a priority • It’s about earning scholarship dollars for your athletic ability and competing for national championships • It’s about professors, coaches, and staff caring for students • It’s the university chancellor seeing students on campus and being able to call them by name and ask how things are going • More than 50 percent of Division II schools have fewer than 2,500 students • There are 24 conferences and 309 schools at the Division II level • Division II student-athletes have a higher graduation rate than non student-athletes • The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference was founded in 1992 and currently has 16 schools spread out over five states • Since 2006, NSIC teams have won 16 national championships • Community engagement is a priority from hosting youth clinics, bringing student-athletes to schools, and supporting causes We want to thank you in advance for your support. IT MATTERS! For more information about UMC Teambackers, contact Derek Martin, associate development officer, at 218-281-8436 or derekm@umn.edu.
