Srinagar,June2,CNS:Expressingconcernovertherecentreports that appeared in a section of press about Jammu and Kashmir Bank,KashmirTradersandManufacturingFederation(KTMF) president Muhammad Sadiq Baqal Monday asked the Bank to come out with a white paper to clear all doubts about the bank’s asset quality. During a meeting of KTMF, Baqal said that being the bank of the common masses, Kashmiri people have right to know what is happening inside the bank. He said that from time to time the traders of Kashmir had closed door meetings with the bank officials but till date those meetings yielded no positive results. Baqal alleged that some arrogant officials of the Bank instead of addressing the problems of traders always find ways and means to add them. “Every Kashmirs has his saving in this bank and they have right to know about the status and condition of the Bank. Bank officials must come out with a white paper to clear its position on NPA,” Baqal said adding that the lower of interest rate by the bank does not mean that traders will act as mute spectators. Muhammad Sadiq Baqal according to CNS said that instead of utilizing its resources outside Jammu and Kashmir, the Bank should concentrate on the state and should immediately address the problems of traders who incurred heavy losses during 2010 unrest.

‘Kamal asks Ministers to change their attitude towards people’ Starting from Sagar, NC will go for a major reshuffle Srinagar, June 2, CNS: Asking National Conference Ministers to change their attitude towards the people, party additional general secretary Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal Monday said party president is mulling to go for a major reshuffle in the party. “You see party appointed Ali Muhammad Sagar as its new general secretary but this is not the only change. In coming days, the party will witness a major reshuffle while new faces may be given preference over some of the leaders who occupied cabinet berth and other important posts for years together,” Kamal told Srinagar based news gathering agency CNS admitting that vacuum got created between the party leadership and the grass root level workers during the past some years. Kamal said that it is an open truth that some of the party ministers cared a fig for the people who elected them in 2008 assembly elections. “These people must change their attitude and must understand that people are the ultimate authority and it is because of these people that they occupy the chair,” he said. NC legislator said that gap between people and party leaders have widen while the party president DrFarooqAbdullahiskeentobridgethegapbetweentraditionalpartyworkersandleaders.“Farooq Abdullah was busy in New Delhi and he had not information what was happening on the ground in Kashmir. Farooq Sahab himself admitted that due to his busy schedule in New Delhi, he found it difficult to spare enough time for the party. The defeat in Parliament elections opened the eyes of party leadership and now everyone has agreed to change his attitude towards the people,” he said adding that there is no doubt that party Ministers kept themselves detached with the common people and even did not bother to receive their phone-calls in time of need. He said that both youth and old-guard have to run the affairs of the party smoothly. “Youth are keen to work for the party while the senior leaders can advise and guide them to steer the boat of the party. The change that party is going to make will see mixture of both. Now Farooq Abdullah is available for the workers in Kashmir, the party will surely be able to make one-to-one contact with the people and party workers,” he said. (CNS)
