Sogin String Education Scholarship: Kaitlin Callihan Given to support a student pursuing a graduate degree in music education, with a focus in string education, pedagogy, or music education community outreach programs.

MUSIC HISTORY AWARDS Dr. Donna Kwon, Chair Ralph McCracken Scholarship – Music History: Nate Cortas Given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of music history.

Adele Headley Award: Khalil Dennis Given in recognition of exceptional achievement and potential for musicological research.

Ralph McCracken Scholarship – Music Education: Madison Bentley Given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of music education.

Kristen Stauffer Todd Memorial Award: Elizabeth Varnado Given in recognition of exceptional graduate teaching and service in musicology and ethnomusicology.

George Hurst Memorial Scholarship: Michaelle Perros Mr. George Hurst was the owner and founder of the George Hurst Music Company, which is still in operation today. This award is given in recognition of exceptional achievement in instrumental Music Education.

VOICE, STRINGS, and KEYBOARD AWARDS Prof. Dieter Hennings, Chair

Mildred S. Lewis Scholarship: Emma Scott Endowed by her many friends and former students upon her death in the 1970s, Ms. Lewis was the director of the UK Choral Program and a nationally known music educator. This is given in recognition of outstanding scholarship, musical achievement, and professional promise in choral music education.

Ralph McCracken Scholarship – VSK Division: Madison Jones Given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the voice, strings, and keyboard division.

Ford M. Montgomery Memorial Piano Scholarship: Changpeng Ti Given in recognition of exceptional achievement in piano performance, this award is in memory of Ford Montgomery, beloved piano professor at UK for many decades.

Jean Marie McConnell Chrisman Memorial Piano Scholarship: Ni Zhan A piano scholarship endowed by Jean Marie’s husband, Norman Chrisman, in her memory. This award is given in recognition of outstanding performance, talent, and professional promise in piano.

Kevin Toole Award: Emily Jones Mr. Kevin Toole was founder of the Drum Center of Lexington. This award is given to a freshman percussion student in recognition of exceptional achievement in percussion performance.

Nathaniel Patch Piano Scholarship: Juan Lee-Thacker In memory of Nathaniel Patch, a renowned pianist and member of the UK faculty from 1949 to his death in the 1990s. This award is given in recognition of exceptional achievement in piano performance.

Lynn Markowitz Struttman Oboe Scholarship: Mia Quintana Endowed by friends of Ms. Struttman in her memory, this award is given in recognition of outstanding performance, talent, and professional promise in oboe.

Charlie H. Mitchell Award: Grant Holcomb Given to a student pursuing a degree in organ performance or music education with an organ concentration.

Tommy Sandusky Award: Tristan Hooks Given in recognition of exceptional service to the University of Kentucky bands in memory of trombonist, Tommy Sandusky.

Francis Arnold South Award: Katie Copeland Given to an outstanding UK School of Music voice major in recognition of exceptional achievement in vocal performance.

William Harry Clarke Award: Jordan Profitt This award is endowed by members of the UK Band in honor of former director, Mr. William Harry Clarke, and is given in recognition of exceptional service to the University of Kentucky Band Program.

Phyllis Jenness Vocal Scholarship: Lillian Broderick Given in recognition of an exceptional voice major dedicated to music and singing, and in honor of one of UK’s most beloved voice teachers and opera directors.

Michael Turpin Award: Maggie O’Neil Given in recognition of exceptional service to the University of Kentucky bands.

Brett and Jackie Scott Award: Amy Kate Smith & Eric Poore Given in recognition of exceptional service to the University of Kentucky Choral Program.

COLLEGIATE HONORS AWARDS Dr. Stanley Pelkey, Director Sigma Alpha Iota Collegiate Honor Award: Daniela Rivera Awarded for exemplary attributes of musicianship, scholarship and leadership.

Phi Mu Alpha Collegiate Honor Award: Bailey Goff Given in recognition of outstanding contribution to the University of Kentucky through service, musicianship and leadership.

Ralph McCracken Scholarship – WPJ Division: Coleman Scott Given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the winds, percussion, and jazz division.

W. Adrian Jones Award: Brian Keith Given by the UK Percussion Society for leadership and service. This award is named for UK percussion graduate, Adrian Jones.

Thelma Greene Scholarship: Abby Temple Given to a junior or senior music major in recognition of academic achievement in music.

Elaine Gould Memorial Percussion Award: Luciano Medina Annually given to an outstanding freshman percussion student. The award is given in memory of the mother of UK alumnus Michael Gould.

Flossie M. Greene Scholarship: Jonathon Nickell Given in recognition of academic achievement in music.

James Campbell Percussive Award: Deandrae White and Jacob Smith Given in recognition of exceptional achievement in percussion performance and service to the University of Kentucky Percussion Program.
