UNIVERSITY OF THE INCARNATE WORD!

December 5, 2011 Dear Students, Happy Holidays from the Campus Life Staff to you and our best wishes for a wonderful holiday break. I hope you had a great fall semester and I look forward to your return in the new year, 2012. If you are graduating, studying abroad, starting a new job, or attending another institution, I wish you success and God’s abundant blessings.

I wanted to

leave you with original, wise and inspirational thoughts to end the year, but instead I will share a quote from John Greenleaf Whittier, an American Quaker poet from the 1800s whose words summarize my thoughts. Somehow,(not(only(for(Christmas,( But(all(the(long(year(through,( The(joy(that(you(give(to(others,( Is(the(joy(that(comes(back(to(you.( And(the(more(you(spend(in(blessing,( The(poor(and(lonely(and(sad,( The(more(of(your(heart's(possessing,( Returns(to(you(glad. (John(Greenleaf(Whittier For me, these words embody the spirit, in fact the Incarnate Word Spirit, which we should share all year. Peace, Joy, and Blessings to you and your family, RenĂŠe Moore, Ph.D. Dean of Campus Life
