Hi! I’m Uğur Güler. In June,2019 I graduated from MEF University, Faculty of Art&Design and Architecture” . Through my whole education years , I did so many different designs. Each design have a different geographical condition and that issue helped me to focused on the relationship between architecture and environment. In my designs, I mostly aimed to serve creative ideas to public.To the purpose of converting projects into the real life, I designed new details.These detail designs created the advantages of constructing and disassembling structures easily and moving them to other areas. In the model making processes of the projects, I thought architecture through different fields and produced with different materials. Within the school internship period in 2016 summer , we made a play space project called Küp Küp with a team of 16 people in Istanbul,Sarıyer Güneykıldıran kindergarten garden. I took an active role in the overall design, drawing, detail production and construction of the project. On the other hand , I did my another intern at Renda Helin Design&Interiors office for “Kampüshane Girl Dormitory” project. In that project, I took an active role in the supervision, reporting and project revision processes of the project site. Apart from this project, I worked effectively in the other office and house projects construction sites in Renda Helin Design. I spent my office internship at Aboutblank Architecture & Urban Design. During my intern, I took an active role in detail drawing / production, general design / modeling and presentation preparation of projects on many different subjects and scales. I gained experience in project management and presentation processes.

TETRIS ARCBAZAR STAIRCASE COMPETITION 2019 HONORABLE MENTION The Tetris staircase is the renovation design. It was aimed to rearrange the staircase from the bedroom to the attic to create more suitable space for the tv unit, to create extra storage space, and to create shelves for the placement of books and decorative products.

In every day that we breath, the world always changes to keep it’s dynamics and that changes effects our habitat too whether in a good or bad way. The Project “Twist” is created and progressed with the idea of cultivating new habitats concept . It is a living and production area project which based in Çan,Çanakkale. The thermal power plants that are locate nearby in Çan are lowered the production capability level. In order to rebuild that production efficiency there should be a “new” production and living solutions and the best way is that, preventing destruction of natural resources. A new technique “soilless agriculture” is an advantage for area and that term is one of the centeralized issue in project due to gain yield in a unit area. The purpose of the project is simple. It focuses the connection of “production and living”. So that, “toweration” idea is used. The houses which are on the top floors of the towers will living areas for people and while these people lives in their homes, they can also being productive and make production in the down floors of the towers. Other areas of the towers (outside) are public sphere that opens to visitors to visit production areas.

Whereby Çan district have a huge forests, the project inspired from that forests and aims to enlarge forests to repair damaged areas. In addition , it also gives opportunity to visitors not just to stay closed in general area. As the visitors wishes, they can walk around in the forest to stay fresh and healthy.

Water is taken from the river with the structures on the water. The cleaned water is transferred to the storage towers in the area by the pipes under the roads at different heights. These towers are also delivered to the towers where production is made.

Green Zones With the roads created on the ground floor, it is aimed to spread the circulation to the whole area. There are also service routes that are allowed to enter the vehicle only in emergency situations. It is designed not to interfere with the circulation of vehicles in the whole area.

The aim of adding new structures or removing existing ones, the structure is interdependent. Clt wood was used in the flooring of the houses. (Image 1) The interlocking structure also facilitates the assembly of soilless agricultural materials with the logic of production. Istanbul has crowded structure. Especially in Levent area, there are lots of business centers.Business centers can be seen as a production areas. To considering area’s past structure , so many people lived and also made agriculture at a same time, in a same place. Levent evolute his profile for the reasons of crowded structuring and uprising the buildings. Many of the gaps created by this structure are undefined. The Le-Vent project aims to diversify the production logic in the field by taking the old situation and the current situation together. In order to preserve the traces of the existing structures in the area and reduce the density in the area, a gridal approach was adopted. Afterwards, the general area is taken as a grid and a general order is formed. The newly constructed structures are designed where existing structures are located. 20

That project transfer the problematic issue of hight buildings to the positive way with establishing new space structures. The newly designed structures were developed within the framework of three types of typological classification of existing structures. These structures have diversified within them by centering the logic of soilless agricultural production.That logic of production gives inovation to a general production mechanisms. The buildings include residences, R & D centers for soilless agricultural production, and market areas for commercialization of the obtained products. With this approach, undefined gaps in the area have been transformed into transition areas as well as enabling public activities. As the ground is also treated as gridal, elevation and pits are formed and new functions are gained to the area. Thanks to the pits, an extra ground was created underground. In this area, a museum is planned for the presentation of soilless agricultural units to the public. 21

Istanbul is a rich city which has got a perfect history and the culture. One of the most important locations on Istanbul is Galata. The significant thing about location is, Galata had protected its history for a long time. The Livre project was built upon the ‘New’ idea. So when we think to term of ‘New’, is that term should make be a different from anything or is that term should references of history and built it again ? If we look at Galata, the answer is simple. To connect with past to future makes a new and modernity place of library. Livre is designed for public. The first purpose of library is that to built a different public structure in Galata. The location of Galata is popular for averey age of people and in everytime of a day it is a crowded place. Livre’s stairs entrance makes an advantage of public who want to sit and enjoy the moment for free.

Another innovation is combining technology to library. That issue helps to create units in the out facade. The units are on the rails. Movement of the units are bounded to the sunlight and they are moving through the central system.

The problem of the cities are having limited areas where children can play comfortably and safely. Contrary to the traditional playground areas, the KÜP KÜP (cube cube) project is designed in accordance with the space, the user and the needs. It is located in the garden of Güney Kıldıran Kindergarten in Sarıyer, Istanbul. The playground, which is designed with the wishes of the children, provides both mental and physical development opportunities for children. Cube Cube, which includes seating areas besides play elements, also provides opportunities for collective activities.

Small rooms are difficult to organize. Extra Space is required in the room. Stairs are the elements that have the potential to be used as a storage area besides their own use. The Tetris staircase is the renovation design. It was aimed to rearrange the staircase from the bedroom to the attic to create more suitable space for the tv unit, to create extra storage space, and to create shelves for the placement of books and decorative products.

COOLING SYSTEM NATURAL STONE DESIGN COMPETITION / PARTICIPANT

He-Co is designed to act as a heater-cooler in spaces. Unlike heater-coolers in use, their smaller dimensions prevent loss of space in the places and the create a more affective effect. Water is used as a source for the heating-cooling process. A water tank is located on the underside of the table. There is heating and cooling system next to the water tank. The heat coming from the water is spread to the whole stone by means of wires placed inside the stone. It is aimed to increase the diffusion state of the heat by the gaps on it.

‘Catty’ is a cat house project designed for cats escaping from freezing or overwhelming weather. This cat house is formed by combining one module in different ways. The single module allows the user to use the design in his / her own function. In this application, granite stone which is not affected by heat changes and facilitates shelter is used with this feature. It is one of the most suitable stones for external use because of its high abrasion resistance and its durability is higher than all other natural stones.

CITY SCENARIO EVOLUTION OF THE CITY

Over time, people have ignored other living things. As a result, the organisms are extinct. What kind of a life will occur if all living things except human beings are completely destroyed? Drugs given to people in the development of this destruction has a great effect. Slowly, these values are taken from the hands of people to prevent this situation by means of drugs to prevent. This medicine gives people an artificial happiness and imagination. On the other hand, one of the changes in people’s lives is their outfits and breathing situations. Due to the presence of toxic gases, people are transitioning to more closed masked clothes.

In today’s settlement, green areas continue to exist. There are still areas where people can spend time.

There is a life in the dystopian city order where all living things except human are destroyed. The buildings are constructed in structural terms. With the advancement of technology, the construction is carried out with 3d printers.

Destruction of plants causes soil loosening and collapse. This situation was also seen in the city’s main center. The area, which is the center and the monument, collapsed and caused many buildings to collapse.

This central building accommodated the laboratories where the drugs were made. In these laboratories, experiments are made on the seeds obtained from the power which is hidden. Again, the city is intended to bring green and other creatures. The seeds were tested on the soil with the migration of the soil. From the genetically modified seeds, a strong and giant tree was formed. The reason why people see this reborn tree without medication is the impossibility to reach the old times. People together with this situation again to create a more precise idea to live. With the idea of living in the trees, people’s houses would have been in the trees. The idea is that people will not harm their homes. Again on the trees, houses were built with 3d printers that were used in that period and they were placed with cranes. 66
