Virginia Schutte, a doctoral student in the UGA Odum School of Ecology, researches red mangroves. Their ecosystems support an astonishing variety of marine life. Her various research efforts received fellowship support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as well as the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
