coming soon: Ad dash! One of the most exciting events Ad Soc puts on each year is Ad Dash, a 12 hour philanthropic event (and competition!) where students work to solve advertising and marketing problems for a real non-profit client. The planning for this year’s event is already underway, and we are so excited about this year’s client. Although most of the deets are secret for now, Alicia will be explaining more at our first meeting after Spring Break. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and get ready for that meeting: sign-ups will follow shortly!

Member Spotlight Kristen Peebles, junior What has been your favorite Ad Society event? My favorite Ad Society event would have to be the first Advertising Advisory Council meeting I went to last year. I was amazed that these professionals were taking time out of their busy lives to come and talk to us and give us such useful advice. I’ve gone to every one offered since then, and every time I go I learn something new. Do you have any kind of motto or life advice that you live by? I was introduced to Henry David Thoreau in high school and have loved this quote since then: “What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when you bring what lies within out into the world, miracles happen.” If you could only work with one brand/company throughout your career, which would you pick and why? If I could work with one company throughout my career it would hands down be Disney. I’ve been captured by the magical feeling of Disney since I was young, and I want to share that feeling with others.

Keep up the awesome work, Kristen! We love recognizing our outstanding members. If you know someone who deserves a spotlight, email mmundo@ufl.edu.
