In this Issue What is the Ad Council? Who are our guests? Atlanta Trip Are you ready?

What is the Ad Council? The Advertising Advisory Council is an accomplished group of professionals and UF alumni who come to campus with one goal: to help out undergrads like you! The board visits twice a year (once in Spring and once in Fall) to network with current students and give them advice on how to reach their career goals. Along with our panel tonight, they will be participating in breakout sessions in the AHA! Lab at 9:00 AM on Friday morning. The council is here so that you can pick their brains. To give you an idea of what kinds of questions to ask, we’ve listed some of ours:

• What was your big break? • What got you the job that you really wanted? • When you got out of college, did you get the job you wanted? • How long did you stick with that job? • What were you looking for when you chose a job? • How was the transition moving into a new city? • What is a typical day like for you? • Are there any misconceptions about the industry you’d like to debunk? • How did a campaign you worked on come to life? • What do you wear to work? • What is the culture of your agency? • What keeps you motivated? • Where do you look for inspiration? • How do you stay up-to-date on the industry? • What are you reading? • How much freedom do you have to make decisions on your work?
