When I applied to UF in High School, I was really just aiming for the stars, if you would’ve asked me back then I would’ve told you straightforward that I didn’t think I was getting in. Fast-forward just a year later and here I am. After that I can say that hard work pays off and since simply applying was reaching for the stars, then metaphorically I really am living my dream right now. Now how I got into Advertising is also a bit crazy. Watching those crazy HGTV shows as a kid had me thinking that I wanted to be an interior designer - until I found out about advertising on preview day here (a bit late amirite). I began to love the whole Ad industry because it gave me a platform to use my creative side while pursuing my passion for social advocacy. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona; grew up in Venezuela in my childhood years and then my family finally moved to the United States and we’ve lived in Tampa for the last twelve years. My main language is Spanglish. In my spare time you’ll find me singing along or dancing to any kind of spanish music. Salsa is my all time fave. I’m a bookworm, and I watch a bit too much Grey’s Anatomy. If you ask me what the best sport ever made is I’ll say that it’s hands down baseball and I’ll patiently wait until my Tampa Bay Rays win the World Series someday, even though they’ll most likely take as long to get there as the Chicago Cubs did. Aspirations in life? Now don’t tell me it’s cliche because really for me it’s to enjoy the little things and not take life too seriously. Also always above all, to live for others.
Save the date! Ad Dash will be April 7-8! This two-day event will be a friendly competition and race against the clock, with the purpose of improving our community, as well as building student portfolios and community connections. Teams work for twelve hours to present a show-stopping campaign to a local non-profit client. If you are interested be sure to sign up Thursday, March 22 and attend the mandatory meeting Monday, April 2.

I am a Total Market Strategy Supervisor at Hearts & Science. I have been in the industry for 8 years, spending most of my career at full service agencies, but working within the Media. I was recently recognized by my company as an Omnicom Group Emerging Star, which is an award identifying the companies youngest and brightest talent.
My position is a bit of a hybrid, as I work on muti-cultural and general markets. I work specifically on Procter & Gamble’s My Black Is Beautiful platform and P&G’s Scale brands. I serve as the day to day liaison to agency partners and media vendors to help clients deliver on their media objectives. My team supports the client strategically, allowing them to connect with their target consumer through different media channels. Essentially, I am the reason you’ve seen that commercial during that YouTube video or that TV show at that specific time. The most exciting part about my position, is being creative with media and helping clients come up with new and innovative ways to reach their target. Although not as hands on as creating an ad or writing ad copy. Media can be just as creative.
