INSTITUTE FALL’18 I AHMEDABAD I 2700 sq.m.

The focus was to design classroms with openings which would visually connect students with the nature in an attempt to enhance the experience of the learning environment. The concept was the library to be focal point of the institute so that it is be visible from every corner of the school. Library is place which is considered as the Epitome of Education and a place as pure as any holy shrine. Henceforth, I tried placing library on the top to depict its importance and where it could be easibly visible and accesible. The requirements of the design project are: 1.Classrooms for grade one to eighth with two sections each, computor lab, Language lab and Subject lab. 2.Administrative block which includes office and reception area, principal room, staff room and meeting room. 3.Open spaces for assemly and playground. 4.Services areas for toilet and watercooler.

Conceptual Model -Visual Connectivity

Conceptual Stage In this model, I tried to stagger classrooms horizontally and placed the library in the middle on first floor to give it outmost importance.

Addition and Subtraction This model depicts slight breaking of symmetry and formation of various pockets of spaces.

Detailing of Openings In this model, the use of different openings, and the progress towards finalisation of the design can be shown.

School being a place where a child is away from the chaotic and corrupt world of unjustice and equality. It is place where you are treated equally irrespective of your social and economical background one comes from, in the similiar way i placed all the classroom in a position so that everyone enjoys the privilage of a good and comfortable classrom. I also considered the of visually connecting the openings of inclosed spaces with landscape of the school.
