AUTUMN

2nd year from Palmdale, California General Biology major

I am going to be studying abroad in Rome this summer. I was convinced to travel after speaking with the study abroad representative at the Black Resource Center. She gave me all the information I needed about the program, including scholarship opportunities, and provided answers to all my questions.

JOCELYN

2nd year from San Diego, California Applied Mathematics major

I like to use as many campus resources as I can, like the Raza Resource Centro, OASIS Tutoring, Peer Advising and different clubs and organizations. These have helped me become more involved and find more opportunities that are available to me at UC San Diego.

BRODY

3rd year from Merced, California History & Political Science major Native American Student Alliance, Associated Students

I’ve met a lot of my friends through the Native American Student Alliance and the Inter-Tribal Resource Center. I’m also a part of Associated Students, which has allowed me to get involved on campus and meet a ton of new people!

KENNY

MARIA

4th year from Salinas, California Human Development major Ballet Folklorico

One of my favorite organizations is Ballet Folklorico, which is traditional Mexican folk dancing here on campus. I had never done Ballet Folklorico before, but I instantly fell in love with it. It was a great community and it made me feel at home. I love that our group is able to share our culture with the whole campus.

COLIN

4th year Transfer from San Diego, California Biochemistry major Student Veteran

Going to UC San Diego has given me a foot in the door to many great opportunities, like my internship at Pharmatek, Inc., which is just down the street from campus. I’m excited to gain some valuable research experience.

4th year from American Canyon, California Physiology and Neuroscience major UC San Diego Track and Field team

There are so many ways to get involved on campus. Personally, I love being involved with athletics. I’m a runner on the Track and Field team. I’m also a part of student government and several volunteer orgs. There’s just so many options with more than 600 student orgs to choose from.
