Merit Scholarships CMU invests millions of dollars each year in scholarships that reward prospective students for going above and beyond in their schools and communities. We continually review and update our scholarship packages. We know for certain that CMU will reward a larger pool of high-achieving students this year compared to the last. These scholarships can equal tens of thousands of dollars in support for you over four years.

Centralis Scholarships: Awards that range from full rides covering tuition, room and board, and some general expenses to 36 credit hours of tuition a year. Merit scholarships for freshmen: A variety of awards granting thousands of dollars to students with strong GPAs and ACT scores. Criteria and dollar values are fluid. Check cmich. edu/scholarships regularly for up-to-date information. Merit scholarships for transfers: Similar to the freshman merit awards, this series of scholarships is awarded to students with strong college GPAs. Nonresident awards: Awarded to entering freshmen who are not Michigan residents, this program allows them to pay in-state tuition rates if they meet GPA requirements. Multicultural Advancement and Leader Advancement scholarships: Both based on demonstrated leadership and a commitment to help others, information about these programs is available at and respectively.

We look forward to talking with you if you’re serious about education, earning your degree and making a difference in the world.
