Chris Horvath
Instructor, Entertainment Award winning composer Chris Horvath has enjoyed a 30+ year career in Los Angeles as a musician, songwriter, composer, and producer. Artists he has performed or recorded with include Billy Idol, Michael McDonald, Jack Johnson, Kenny Loggins, Brian McKnight, Ray Charles, Jackson Browne, Rick Springfield, Christopher Cross, Bobby Brown, John Secada, David Crosby, Venice, Rock of Ages (Musical), and many more. Chris has composed scores and created music for Digimon, Grey’s Anatomy, Coolio’s Rules, Unconscious, Scrubs, Casual, National Lampoon’s Gold Diggers, Entertainment Tonight, Ellen Degeneres, All I Wish, ESPN, FOX Sports, The Tonight Show (NBC), Alias, America’s Got Talent, and many others. He is also a frequent lecturer at USC, Berklee College of Music, NARAS Grammy In The Schools, NAMM, and many other professional organizations and universities.

ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN Master of Interior Architecture
Always dreamed of becoming an interior designer or looking to take your design career to the next level? That opportunity has arrived. Designed for the working professional, the online Master of Interior Architecture Program can be pursued on a part-time basis and incorporates the highest standards of practice, empowering students to build a first-rate professional portfolio of large-scale projects to demonstrate superior design and technical ability.


Designed for independent artists, lyric writers, composers, and music producers, the Independent Music Production Certificate prepares students to work on the creative side of the music industry, writing, producing, and recording music in their home studio and marketing it themselves. The program covers the music business, songwriting, and producing, encompassing not only the creative skills needed for projects from inception to finish, but also the marketing skills needed to promote and sell completed works independently. Certificate students are eligible to apply for the Independent Music Production Scholarship Competition that will be held in Spring 2022.
New Course
Color Correction and the Digital Intermediate
FILM TV X 478.314C; Instructor: Jason Knutzen One of the last and most crucial steps of post-production is color correction (the digital intermediate). This course covers how color correction fits into the workflow of post, including discussion and workshops on how to complete a conform and the role of the online editor. The majority of the course focuses on the role of the colorist from a technical and aesthetic approach; examining how color correction can be used to enhance visual storytelling, and the tools used to achieve such results. Lastly, this course covers the role of the finishing editor in compiling deliverables, ranging from an online screener to a DCP (digital cinema package).

Chinese Brush Painting
In Chinese art and culture, a flower is never merely a flower, nor scenery merely a place; each has its legends, romantic stories, and symbolic spirituality. Explore the wonders of spontaneous-style Chinese Brush Painting during this workshop with hands-on, step-by-step instruction. Chinese Brush painting is held this spring in person and simultaneously broadcast live on Zoom. Students have the option to attend either in person or online, or a combination of both.
WRITERS’ PROGRAM Creative Writing Certificate
A Flexible Program for Writers in All Genres Develop creative writing skills in poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction, and more. This customizable program culminates in a capstone project in which students make significant progress on a polished collection of work.
The 2022 Writers Studio: Home Edition
Fully online courses blending live in-person meetings and offline activities Thursday–Sunday, February 24–27 The conference features daily guest speakers and a keynote presentation by an industry professional of note. Our instructors will strive to preserve the unique classroom experience while ensuring students remain engaged, active, and connected to one another throughout the four days of learning. Written Communication Courses
The Writers’ Program is thrilled to launch its new program, Written Communication. These courses focus on practical applications of writing in daily life: clear expression of ideas, writing persuasively, editing communication for clarity and brevity, and practical applications of writing in careers. Our spring offerings include WRITCOM 701.1E Writing with Confidence, instructed by Daniel Jaffe; WRITCOM X 401 Clear and Descriptive Writing, instructed by Jessica Barksdale Inclán; and WRITCOM X 402 Persuasive Writing, instructed by Carlos Allende Gonzalez.
