“Combining two certificate programs at UCLA Extension is a unique opportunity for me. I have wanted to work in digital marketing for a while, and I am learning a lot, like how to use Google Analytics in the Digital Analytics class. And, on the other side, the Business of Entertainment certificate is taking my personal interest and teaching me the basics of the industry. The instructors are interesting and use examples of their professional work, making the class really practical. I feel confident I can find opportunities to work in marketing in the entertainment industry.” — Mathilde Ricard, SKEMA Business School student pursuing two UCLA Extension certificate programs “The digital marketing certificate and its variety of courses so far—Digital Analytics, SEO, Digital Marketing —have helped me shape the marketing strategy of my future business. Additionally, tools and resources have allowed me to go deeper to nourish my curiosity and flesh out my resume. The Business of Entertainment Certificate instructors have helped me understand the key elements of the industry, their relationships, and their strength and interests. Their materials and analyses also provide excellent insight into where to go to find the internship or the job you want.” — Hugo Breiner, SKEMA Business School student pursuing two UCLA Extension certificate programs

Custom Programs & Corporate Education
Our work with organizations has spanned a wide array of industries and topics. However, some of the most common training and development requests we receive are for topics in leadership, management, and interpersonal/soft skills. Ranging from executive communication seminars to new manager and future leader trainings to helping students preparing to enter the workforce, our Custom Programs Department has offered hundreds of unique programs for clients. Below are a few recent sample programs in these areas.
Leadership Program Spotlights

Yusen Terminals Future Leaders Academy
Within their succession planning initiative, Yusen Terminals identified high potential future leaders, along with their strengths and areas in need of development. Working collaboratively with UCLA Extension, Yusen Terminals mapped out a two-year program to build both the knowledge and skills these employees needed. The goals of this program were to enable growth that would yield immediate results in employees’ current roles, and also to support longer-term development for future leadership roles within the organization. The program includes a mixture of credit-bearing courses, custom seminars, and monthly coaching.
UCLA Anderson Interview Workshop
UCLA Extension has collaborated with UCLA Anderson over the past two years to offer a custom-designed workshop to undergraduate students in the accounting minor program. The goal is to increase the potential for these students to secure competitive job offers upon graduation. The threepart workshop focuses on necessary skills for the interview process and building professional networks, including resume and cover letter writing, personal branding, and panel discussions with industry recruiters.

Affiliati Network Leadership Retreat
As a successful and growing marketing firm, Affiliati Network recognized the need to support their managers to help them effectively lead their teams through ongoing and anticipated changes as the organization scales. Collaborating with UCLA Extension, Affiliati Network is offering a leadership retreat to develop common frameworks, tools, and skills in areas such as interpersonal communication, resolving conflict, maximizing cooperation, trust and accountability, and managing change. The two-day immersive program serves as a vehicle to convene managers across the organization to collaborate and continue their development together.
Korn Ferry Leadership Development Program
UCLA Extension is working in collaboration with Korn Ferry, a global organizational consulting firm, to create a leadership development program for a client currently in the process to become a holding port company in Indonesia. This one-week custom program will help participants to strengthen their ability to innovate as leaders and to develop their entrepreneurial mindset in a digital world. The course objective is to teach executives a way of thinking that leads to effective strategy development and drive execution. UCLA Extension will also provide relevant and related site visits to reinforce classroom lectures and activities.
