When someone dies there are many decisions and arrangements to be made. Unfortunately these often have to be made at a time of personal distress. You may require help with administrative and financial issues. We will be happy to assist and guide you at any stage through the complex and complicated area of administering the estate and reduce the pressures and worries of being an executor or administrator. We can help you to apply for a Grant of Probate, where there is a Will or a Grant of Letters of Administration, Where there is no Will and the deceased has died in testate. We can also advise you in relation to a Deed of Variation where appropriate. If you are in the unfortunate position where the estate has become contentious or there is an Inheritance (Provision for Family Dependants) Act 1975 claim, we are also able to help you.

LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY In the event of loss of mental capacity, people can need help and support in relation to their Property & Finances and Health & Welfare matters. Making an LPA gives you the opportunity for you to choose those that you wish to make decisions on your behalf rather than relying on Social Workers or Medical Professionals you do not know and who do not know you. Most of our clients would rather choose their own carers and wish to plan in advance accordingly. Most carers welcome the additional flexibility and authority that being appointed as Attorney gives, enabling them to care more effectively. We recommend that you guide your chosen Attorney(s) with a personal Letter of Wishes reflecting the approach that you wish them to take. We are happy to discuss your own personal circumstances and requirements with you.

“It was a pleasure coming to Woodbourne Road. The building itself is so imposing yet homely and all the solicitors and staff are welcoming.”

...DID YOU KNOW... Ÿ The original Lease for ‘The Rocklands’ (now, 29 Woodbourne Road) dates back to 1889. Ÿ Tyndallwoods originated with Thomas Webb in 1792 - the first Tyndall joined in 1805. A merger in the 1960’s produced a Firm called Tyndall, Mirams, R.M. Wood and Sons. In 1971, the firm changed its name to Tyndallwoods. Ÿ There are Latin aphorisms on the stained glass windows throughout the buildilng. Here are just a couple - Truth is mighty and will prevail. - By learning you will teach and by teaching you will learn. Ÿ According to our local postman, one of his predecessors delivered mail to our next door neighbours at number 31. The Beatles were staying there in 1963 practicing for the launch of what became their best-selling single worldwide, “I Want To Hold Your Hand”.

DEVELOPING TALENT Motivated and skilled staff are key to our success. As the firm grows we are keen to nurture and develop talent. As we invest in training we continue to see added value and service throughout the firm.

WRAP UP BRUM Judy noticed the terrible plight that our City’s homeless faced as winter drew in. Judy decided to ‘do something big! She created ‘Wrap up Birmingham’ #WrapUpBrum. We asked friends, colleagues and local businesses to donate old Coats, Scarves, Hats, etc. We set the office up as a collection point and by December 2016 we collected over 300 items to be donated to Sifa Fireside, the Salvation Army and St Chads Sanctuary.

For many years, Tyndallwoods have been proud to support It was therefore very exciting When our friend, local Birmingham artist, Shelli Graham chose to design a bespoke greetings card for all seasons in support of Hollytrees featuring Ray’s beloved Fox Freddie.
