FLORENCE + THE MACHINE ,

originally "Florence Robot/Isa Machine”, formed in South London in 2007. Florence Welch, the lead singer, and Isabella “Machine” Summers, keyboard player, met in their teen years, and began

to play music together as a duo. The name changed when more members were brought into the band, and Florence decided to condense it.

Their sound is a mix of indie, pop and soul. Florence takes inspiration from the world around her, her body, and her experiences in order to write lyrics. Most songs carry an upbeat, energetic style that resonates well with fans.

“We’re dealing with all of the same things they did— love and death, time and pain, heaven and hell.”

However, some songs encompass the feeling of distress, and rising from that. As for the lyrics, Florence enjoys telling stories of her life, and where she gets inspiration from. Their lyrics are related to Renaissance artists.

CTRI Florence + the Machine concerts are more than extraordinary. Their evocative music transforms into an experience that keeps fans wanting more. The energy and love that comes from the band while they perform is spellbinding. On stage, Florence bops and flies around, performing songs as if they were stories.

She runs through the crowds & aisles of venues, dancing and singing with the fans, as if they were more her friends, rather than onlookers. When you’re at a Florence + the Machine concert, there isn’t a care in the world, other than the music.

Throughout the years, Florence + the Machine has remained humble, lively, and emotional. They began playing for small crows in tiny European venues, singing songs about what made them, them. This still holds true today. They never compromised who they are or what they have been through. The stories they tell are raw, much like the diction in her voice, and the love she has for her fans.
