so that the police members can devote more time to police work,” he says. “The community appears to be very happy with this arrangement as they are in and out in a short period of time,” he says. Between the end of November last year and the end of January this year, Smerdon certified a total of 7 420 documents, while in February alone he certified a total of 2 800 documents. “There is clearly a need for this service. Tip-off leads police to drugs in caravan The Durbanville police confiscated drugs to the value of R60 000 found in a caravan in Fisantekraal last Tuesday after they received a tip-off about drug dealing. According to Captain Marchell Rhode, spokesperson for the Durbanville police, they received information about drugs being kept at a property in Yolan du Preez Street. They went to the property at about
13:00 and searched an old caravan on the premises. The police members found 200 mandrax tablets and five packets of tik hidden in the caravan. A 27-year-old woman was arrested for dealing in drugs. She will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on a charge of dealing in drugs.

Fynbosboek bekendgestel Eisteddfod-pret, die bundel vars ongepubliseerde gedigte uit die pen van die Fynbosskrywers, word op Saterdag 17 Maart vanaf 10:30 op Wellington bekendgestel.
