Erich Oskar Huetter, acclaimed Austrian cellist.
Learn at feet of a master Cellists in and around Cape Town are invited to enrol and hone their skills at a master class presented at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre in Parow. It will be presented by the acclaimed Austrian cellist, Erich Oskar Huetter on Monday 11 February at 14:00. Huetter was born in 1973 and studied with Hildgund Posch at the University of Music in Graz and Reinhard Latzko at the Musikakademie in Basel where he gained the soloist’s diploma and teacher’s diploma (both with highest distinction) in 1999. As a student Huetter won numerous prizes at international competitions. He has performed as soloist in major concert halls across the globe and is a popular presenter of master classes at various universities and at the International Summer Academy Stift Admont. He is the founder and artistic director of the renowned Styrian Chamber Music Festival and the festival Sounding Jerusalem in the Old City of Jerusalem. Sounding Jerusalem presents a European chamber music festival as well as an intercultural platform for young musicians from Palestine, Israel and Europe (www.soundingjerusalem.com). He has also made numerous appearances on radio and television, and CD recordings have made him known to a wider public.
