If you find yourself in the San Diego area, these are some of the must go to spots: ingredients ::

Being so close to the border with Mexico, a visit to a Mexican restaurant is not to be missed. One of the best places to go is Old Town. This place is known for its historic sites, its shopping, and of course the variety of Mexican restaurants. Casa de Reyes offers traditional Mexican food in a beautiful outdoor patio where you can also enjoy the entertainment such as mariachis or folkloric dancing. Another favorite is Casa Guadalajara, one of the most popular restaurants in the area. A newer addition in the area is Tahona Bar which serves Oaxacan-inspired dishes as well as being the first mezcal tasting room in San Diego. Afterwards you may want to go on a stroll through the historic site.

Afterwards, you can take a drive up the iconic Pacific Coast Highway which runs along the Coast San Diego, where you can make your way to Oceanside, a family-friendly town in the northern part of San Diego. The Oceanside Pier is the longest over-water wooden pier on the West Coast. After a walk on the pier, you can stop by the Top Gun house for dessert. The newly renovated house is now open as a retro-pie shop, “The High Pie”.
