-TWA CREW The Wandering Aura presents its new project called “New Auraleans.”
BY TEDDY B. @TEDDY2THEB New Orleans is a very unique place. Living in a city like New Orleans, you are able to experience a lot of cultural activities that are unlike any other in America. New Orleans is also the hometown of crew members of the up and coming brand called The Wandering Aura. Influenced heavily by southern life-
style and the culture of New Orleans, the crew members felt it was only right to reflect their New Orleans influences and experiences through their brand. Thus the New Auraleans project was created to showcase the crew memebers perspective of New Orleans culture and the aura of its natives.
“Growing up in the 90s era in New Orleans, the Hot Boys, CashMoney, and No Limit had heavy influence on our childhood, it seemed as though these brands had taken over the city completely, during that period of time. We here at TWA thought to ourselves, who will be next to make such a huge impact for the next
generation and who will support the New Orleans culture like the previous brands did. That’s when the project idea came to mind for us to create something that can not only showcase the up and coming talent and culture of New Orleans but can become an experience and influence that the next generation can fol-
low and remember.” - Christian aka Teddy B., Founder of TWA New Orleans itself with all its colors, music, food, and art has to be one of the most cultural riches cities in America. From second lines to parades to outdoor festivals and concerts, New Orleans always has something going on. More on A-2.
THE HOT BOYS & HOT GIRLS
The Next Generation of Trendsetters in New Orleans BY TEDDY B.
The TWA Crew wearing the New Auraleans Hot Boy T-Shirt.
It is safe to say that after eight years after Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans has been in a mind set of out with the old and in with the new. This has left a great opportunity for the next generation, the Young Adults, to express themselves freely and to become leaders in their fields and community. A New Orleans Renaissance is amongst us the new wave of entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, actors, directors, and go-getters are actively putting their mark on this culture. The Wandering Aura sees them as the hot boys and hot girls of our generation, the next to be able to take over the reigns and become big tymers in the world. Originally the hot boys, during the 90s, were the up-and-coming talented group of rappers coming out of New Orleans. The Wandering Aura has expanded on that concept to include many fields of up-and-coming individuals making things
happen within our culture. The TWA crew has realized they are not the only Hot Boys because there are several other indiviuals making moves as well. Some Hot Boys and Hot Girls we have come across are like up and coming film directors an visionaries Edward Buckles & Patrick Melon, fashion designers and make up artist like Paige Alexander & Lauren Perry, artists like B. Mike & Ryan Brown, tattoo artist like Red Bean, journalists, chefs, photographers, and tons of musicians like Beezle, Daniel Heartless, SOL, Room Service, the Stooges who are constantly working on their craft to deliver their influence to the world. The list honestly goes on and on, and will continue. The term is just TWA’s way of highlighting the individuals making things happen within this cultural movement of the New Auraleans era. We wish much success to all the Hot Boys and Hot Girls of our time.

WELCOME TO “NEW AURALEANS”
The Creative Project Showcasing the Aura of New Orleans Culture From A-1 We began to realize that all the things that happen before Katrina, and the events that are happening now, are not special solo components in New Orleans. The natives that live here bring the full essence of every event out. Its the people that make New Orleans special, the people who work full-time jobs, but in their off time go to their home to begin sewing in beads for their next Indian suit. The people who spend countless hours designing and building their truck float. The people who continue to use their talents to perform live at plays or to join a brass band. Even the artists who are able to take any
given material and create something unique and original that is showcased throughout the streets and galleries of New Orleans. Even families and individuals have remodeled and painted their homes with the bright vivid colors that makes them standout, but yet completely fit’s in our cities’ neighborhoods. As well as the architecture and history of our city, these things sometimes goes unnoticed, but is still rich in detail. These are avenues we have taken notice of, growing up in a city like New Orleans. These are the reasons why we have chosen to take a deeper look at our home town to appreciate
The Wandering Aura’s creative twist, influence, manipulation, and perpective on New Orleans culture. all that it has to offer, but to also put our twist on things. The Wandering Aura is a lifestyle brand with ambitions to go worldwide, but we wanted to bring, our New Orleans seasoning with us. We see the project as an innovative and creative idea, not only to showcase our culture, but to collaborate and work with many different individuals and businesses within New Orleans as well. We feel as though this is our time in New Orleans where the next generation of musicians, artist, chefs, fashion designers, film makers, entrepreneurs, and individuals are striving to make names for

BY TEDDY B.
Well, if you haven’t listened to the highly anticipated mixtape titled “Owl Pharaoh” your ears are LOSING. This is one of the greatest and most creative pieces of work I have listed to since “My beautiful dark twisted fantasy”. Every song leaves me wanting more, in anticipation of crazy and creative sounds Travi$’s artistry’s is displayed in every song and no two songs are ever identical. He proves it in his lyrics, instruments, and sounds that diverse features is his specialty. With features from A$AP Ferg, Paul Wall, TI, Meek Mill and Wale, to keep it trill. He also features people like Toro Y Moi, Bon Iver, Theophilus London, and James Fauntleroy, to mix up the tones for a little extra flavor. I don’t have any favorite songs, because I
Cover for Travi$ Scott’s Owl Pharaoh cant find the find the mental will to skip any of them. The first of my top three would have to be “Bad Mood.” It always seemed to put me in good vibrations with its dreary sounds, almost like a slow pick me up song. Next, would have to be “Uptown” featuring A$AP Ferg, another one of my favorite new artist, they bring the heat and killed this joint. Starting with the beat which is killer, then raised it to murder 1&2 with both of there
verses, but the production is the icing on the cake. Lastly, I would go with “Quintana.” This song is all over the place, showing off all his coastal influences. “Quintanna” will definitely be chalked up as a Travi$ Scott Classic, along with the whole mixtape. Shout out to OG CHASE B. for the ad lib of the year “WHAT DA HELL!!” -Yelp.com
If you ever are hungry and are Uptown, you must swing by Diva Dawg at 1906 Magazine Street. This is one of our spots the TWA crew are frequently eating at for the food and the atmosphere are great. Having very colorful, yet minimalist decor, Diva Dawg is a great place to hang with friends. Of course the main dish are hot dogs, and this place is able to execute them in several different ways with a New Orleans flair. From their Red Bean Chilli Dawg to even a Chicken and Waffle Dawg, they are very creative in making their hot dogs not only stand out but making them very tasty as well. Even though hot dogs are their specialty, one item that has to be the Crew’s favorite is the Crawfish Etouffée fries. The fries are cut thick and topped with the Crawfish Etouffée. Don’t fall for the imitators, these are the best Etouffée fries we have had and keeps us going back for more and more. Be adventurous and try out Diva Dawg for yourself.

DONT LISTEN TO THE RADIO
MIXING BUISNESS AND PLEASURE
Why You Should Stop Listening to the Radio
BY ASHLEY POWERS
BY YOUNG BLACK MALE The Radio has lost all credibility as a filter between good and bad music , in the hip hop world. Lately, it seems, certain artist have created a monopoly on “popular hip hop music” and has led to a deterrent of creativity in favor of one line hits. For example, “Started From the Bottom”,”Pour it up”,”Bugatti” and virtually any

2chainz or Future song are all catchy, but there’s very little rapping in the actual songs. It is mostly comprised of different artist repeating the same phrase over and over again. Once your aware of this phenomenon you’ll find that you don’t really even like these songs, yet you know the words and often sing along. The reason is, because your being hypnotized by mass marketing into liking their music and, the corporate world, in order to maintain their monopoly on your minds. There’s good news, however, we the consumers no longer have to be slaves to the commercial music we hear on the radio, there are new alternatives to these artist music, all around the nation in the form of underground music. out today like Kendrick Lamar and Asap Rocky made their greatest music while still underground. We all know how hard Lil Wayne’s mix-tapes used to go in the early 2000’s. The question is where to find great underground and indie artists who’s creativity hasn’t yet been limited by greedy record labels desire to make a buck off you. The answer are internet blogs like 2Dopeboyz, Mighty Muzik, and The Wandering Aura, there always looking to provide the latest and greatest in underground music. Sound Cloud is another great tool in the search for promising music. Remember, until we the consumer start to demand more creativity from these artists, we’ll remained doomed to listen to the same song all around the world.
Have you ever dated your coworker? Better yet have you ever dated your boss? On a lot of reality shows today we see a lot of mixing business and pleasure going on or in some cases it’s pleasure and business. Now, it works for few, but fails tremendously for most. There are many results of mixing the two, it can result in job lost, better yet love lost. Now many think they’d rather have love lost then no love at all. Most companies (with an exception of the music industry) Have a policy against dating inside the company, but as seen on reality TV, Love & Hip Hop, many are starting to refer to it as the golden rule. Business is a very serious aspect inour lives and pleasure is fun so
combining the two would leave you in a grey area, the Luke warm water, which I personally believes has no substance, and no value. I’ve been that girl and I found it too much to balance, in the beginning I could separate the two, but then my emotions took over and I became insecure, thinking “if he’s mixing the two with me who else?” I’d never know because we have to be professional at our place of work. I’ve come to realize at the end of the day it will never be what you intended, unless one finds employment else where. Its kind of bittersweet, because you may get love out of it then again you may get unemployment out it, so be careful whenever mixing business with pleasure.
KANYE WEST NEW ALBUM CALLED YEEZUS Artistry or Sacrilegious BY B.WES @WESUNTOUCHABLE As the anticipated date for the release of Kanye West’s sixth solo LP is set for June 18, there seems to be mixed feelings about the rumored artwork. Kim Kardashian posted a photo of the album on Instagram a few weeks back with the hashtag #Yeezus, which gave the first glimpse of the how the cover would look. This raised the curiosity of fans to figuring out what the distorted golden material was. After finding out that the image is actually a melted down “Jesus piece” fans took their thoughts to social networks. A range of feelings & emotions from fans who say “ This is Ye just being the artist he is who does not limit his expression.” Others think that Kanye is insane and sacrilegious comparing himself to Jesus (hence the title “Yeezus”), especially after the rumored album sleeve artwork of Kanye nailed to a “Y” shaped crossed.
Official Album Cover for Kanye West’s 6th LP Yeezus Besides the conflict with the artwork, the album itself has controversial tracks throughout. After the worldwide projection premier of Kanye’s New Slaves track, and his performance of Black Skinhead on SNL’s season finale Ye has sparked the minds of the music world. Collaborations that are said to be featured on the LP include Jay Electronica, Frank Ocean, RZA, Travi$ Scott,Tyler the Creator, John Legend, and Chief Keef. There
was talk of collaborations with Skrillex & Daft Punk, yet the truth behind this has not surfaced. Kanye West has once again gained massive attention of the world for his artistry & now his sacrilegious visuals. Will the fate of Ye’s album sales be determined by the controversial topics & artwork or will lyrical content & production speak for itself. We will just have to wait until the LP hits shelves on June 18, until then … stay [righteous]
THAT IS YOUR CHILD, NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND BY CIARA WILLIAMS email@example.com What ever happen to parents being parents? Seems like parenthood doesn’t exist anymore. Many parents want to be friends with their children. Most of them hang out in night clubs, drink alcoholic beverages, smoke marijuana and commit crimes with them like , the best of friends. What happen to showing your children, right from wrong, and telling them how important their education was. What happen to the discipline that was giving out because of love? You walk outside in the world today you see children
babbling, back and forth, fighting their parents like, cats and dogs. When little boys throw up gang signs and little girls dress inappropriately for their age. Their parents laugh like its a comedy show. Its really sad and has to stop now. Parents need to step up and be parents, not their child’s friend. If this comes into affect now, the number of young men incarcerated can possibly decrease, and young women will have a more motherly figures to follow behind, which decreases the number of females becoming young mothers.

AIR YEEZY 2 NEW COLORWAY BY TEDDY B. The internet has been going crazy with all the new tricks Kanye has been pulling out with the new album on the way, projections of his new music video across cities, and now the word of Nike releasing a new color way of his signature shoe, the Air Yeezy 2. Kanye was seen this past weekend at the Governor’s Ball festival sporting the new color way as he performed new songs from his up coming album, Yeezus, for the first time. There are several rumors surrounding the shoe’s release. Some theories of the shoe releasing on June 18th along with the album have been proving false by Nike
employees. It was tweeted by Hedi Burgett, an Nike employee insider, that the make of a red Air Yeezy are in the works, but set for a later release date than June 18th. Other rumors have not be confirmed by Nike about how many pairs of shoes will be released. Some sources think it will be a very limited run of about 1000 pairs. Some other sneaker philosophers believe that it would be the same as the original release just in this color way. Also, how would these shoes be distributed for purchase. Some believe with all the antics that Kanye has already pulled with this new album, that
Picture of the New Red colorway of the Air Yeezy 2. possibly inside selected albums will be a golden ticket that will allow you to have the ability to purchase the shoe. Some believe it will go though Nike’s RSVP twitter system to select at random people who can purchase the shoe. Most sneaker enthusiasts are already calling it
“Mission Impossible” to be able to cop a pair in any method Nike and Kanye come up with. Still nothing has been confirmed, but the hype and anticpation is surely starting to build up. We must wait and see how Nike handles this release for this is surely another major one for the year.
