My Journey So Far... Prior to qualifying at King's College University of London in 2007, I completed modified Pilates mat work and instructor courses with the Australian Pilates Physiotherapy Institute at Hemelhempsted London Studio. Since then I have used the techniques in hospital and community settings to help those with core stability/musculoskeletal and neurological complaints to re-balance posture and movement control.
Following a period of time working for Kent's Urogynae physiotherapy team I gained an interest in improving the core stability of the pelvic/lower back region to help those with postural/muscle strength changes as a result of pregnancy - then I trained as a FitBack&Bumps instructor, to bring valuable education and exercise to all those who want it most. Combining cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), movement control/balance, cardio and relaxation exercise is now my focus to ensure you gain a healthy body, mind and soul.
I have witnessed the benefits of this approach for all ages, including young children in Indian children's centres via group or one to one sessions.
Come and join the fun! @ Karen's Fit Tums For Mums 4-week ante and postnatal programmes expertly run continence, regaining your core muscles after with mums in mind - education/exercise booklet for pregnancy, physical preparation for labour, the list you to keep using - use of fitball and mats included is endless! Each programme consists of 4 (one hour) sessions The programme is run either on a one to one incorporating discussion (15mins), gentle exercises, basis or in small groups of up to 8 people. You can be seen in the comfort of your own home, stretches and relaxation (week 4)! at a venue near you or alternatively at Elements Topics include: Safe exercising during and after Studio, Repton Park or Goat Leas Community Hall pregnancy, the pelvic floor and maintaining (Wednesdays postnatal 3.45-4.45pm or antenatal 4.45-5.45pm; Fridays postnatal 10-11am or Educate Your Body - Exercise Your Mind antenatal 4.45-5.45pm; Fridays 7.30-8.30pm).
