The LCM of 4 and 8 is 8. Therefore multiply every term on both sides by the value 8. 2x + x –4 = 8; 8 2x + x – 4 = 64; On further solving this equation we get 3x = 64 + 4; 3x = 68, X = 68/ 3; After solving we get the value of x = 68/ 3. Example 2: -
