PERSONAL DETAIL

PERSONAL DETAILS

CAREER STATEMENT

CAREER STATEMENT

My personal interest in architecture is not only professional, but to make a difference to community both locally and globally, which is certainly exciting. As an architect, I want to advocate for the environment itself. I often, want to stand alone as the sole ambassador for the environment during inclusive designing, sustainable construction and maintenance of an urban project. I want to bring back our lush green deltaic views in my projects, not only green environment but also sustainable resilient features in city planning. My public-sector role also has a global aspect in that my areas of responsibility are connected to societal challenges such as urbanization, climate change, social unequity, etc. I have involved in full time teaching in the Architecture Department at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh since January 2015 as a faculty member. I am enthusiastic in my professional arena & I have the opportunity to delve into teaching prospective students, contributing to the world of academia & lending expertise with regards to sustainable and healthy living in many volunteer projects in climate change affected countries. Before joining RUET, influenced by understanding the relationship between architecture, culture and environment, I enrolled in Architecture Discipline at Khulna University in Bangladesh, awarded B. Arch degree in 2011 and ranked 3rd in my class.

I was hired by UNDP & UN-HABITAT as a Community Architect in “Urban Patnerships for Poverty Reduction” (UPPR) project in 2014 at Bangladesh. Field survey, community consultation, community mapping, citywide urban upgrading, low-cost housing design were the main responsibilities. During my experience with UNHABITAT, I’ve developed my expertise in the area of sustainable urban issues, emphasized on city and public relations, neighborhood, motivation, communication & management.

I am an eager learner, not afraid to venturing new territory, also well organized and equipped with strong personal stability and respectful to all cultures and religions. I am a very good team-worker where teamwork was required and I have developed excellent skills in research based works. During my studies & work experience, I have found that my interests are focused particularly in the area of sustainable architecture, urban design and planning. My future goal is to clarify the consequences of various trade-offs between production and sustainable goals dovetails with Agenda 2030, which emphasizes the importance of integrated approaches and solutions in order to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.

TRANSCREATING THE UNREAL FANTASY WORLD INTO REALITY WITH THE LANGUAHE OF ARCHITECTURE MAN WANTS TO GET SOMETHING VERY OWN FROM THE PREVIOUS FAMILIAR ENVIRONMENT DUE TO CHANGE IN ONE’S TASTE IN TERMS OF NEW FANTASTIC IDEALISM. NOT IN A SEQENCE OF REPEATATION OF TRADITIONAL CULTURE BUT ALSO IN A NEW IMAGE. IN THIS PROCESS A FEW THINGS LOST AND WE HAVE TO ACCEPT IT. BY STORING IN A STORAGE, THE LIVELINESS OF THE HERITAGE CAN NOT BE PROTECTED BY SOME OLD EYEBALLS.

01

BUT THE GAPS OF THE HERITAGE ARE FULFILLED WITH NEW ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES. A NEW CHILD BORN AGAIN. THE PUPPET THEATER MUST SPEAK IN NEW SOCIETY WITH NEW ACCENTS. THE SOUL OF THE PUPPET IS SIMILAR FROM THE VERY EARLY AGE. IT IS EVERGREEN INSPITE OF ITS OLD GLORY. THE OLDEST NEW CHILD.

VIRTUAL / UNREAL SPACE: ‘IMAGINARY’ OR ‘FICTITIOUS’, AND IN OTHERS IT STANDS ANYWHERE BETWEEN ‘ABSTRACT’ AND ‘METAPHYSICAL’. A VIRTUAL PLACE CREATES ITS OWN ‘IMAGE SPACE’, INSIDE OF WHICH IT IS THEN LOCATED.

PUPPET & ANIMATION STUDIO & THEATER AT RUPGANJ, NARAYANGANJ, BANGLADESH

THE CREATION OF ARCHITECTURE SHOULD BE ABOUT MAKING UNFAMILIAR & INTANGIBLE SPACES INTO USABLE, RECOGNIZABLE, AND LOGICAL SPACES OF ENERGY, TENSION, RELIEF, AND MEANING TO GIVE THE USER A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE OF THAT PLACE. UNREAL REALITY TOWARDS REALITY APPROACH: • • • • •

HAS TO APPROACHED BY EXAGGERATION OF FORMS. SENSE OF MOTION. FORMS ARE PERCEIVED AS ANIMATED ONES. DYNAMIC FOLDING AND BREAKING OF FORMS. WHEN FORMS ARE ARTICULATED, THEY HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED AS REALM OF UNREALITY

URBAN PARTNERSHIPS FOR POVERTY REDUCTION PROJECT (UNDP & UN-HABITAT, BANGLADESH) AS PER THE SECURE TENURE CAMPAIGN OF UN-HABITAT, ‘SECURITY OF TENURE IS A FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENT FOR THE PROGRESSIVE INTEGRATION OF THE URBAN POOR IN THE CITY AND ONE OF THE BASIC COMPONENTS OF THE RIGHT TO HOUSING.’ I WAS WORKING AS A COMMUNITY ARCHITECT WITH THE KOYERDARA CHRISTIANPARA COMMUNITY WHERE 34 FAMILIES WITH EXTREME VULNERABLE HOUSING CONDITION WERE LIVING WITH VERBAL AGREEMENT, BUT NO LEGAL CONTRACT, INSIDE THE CHURCH’S LAND. ANOTHER 9 HOUSES WERE LOCATED INSIDE THE CHURCH’S CEMETERY & SUFFERED IN FEAR, EXPERIENCING SERIOUS EVICTION THREAT. AFTER SEVERAL MEETINGS IN 2014, WE, THE TECHNICAL TEAM AND THE COMMUNITY HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CHURCH AUTHORITY AND SIGNED A 50 YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE LAND FOR ONLY 5 US$ A YEAR PER HOUSEHOLD.
