Among one of Skokie’s favorite entertainment venues is the landmark Skokie Theatre that is under the ownership of MadKap Productions. MadKap is led by partners Wendy Kaplan and Wayne Mell. They both have a wide breadth of experience bringing dynamic and quality entertainment to the northern suburbs over the past decade. The program schedule for the Skokie Theatre features a variety of exciting and eclectic productions, including intimate musical performances, theater, comedy, movie presentations, children’s theater and more. Be sure to visit www.skokietheatre.org to check out some of the exciting offerings that they are bringing to our community. MUSUEMS The Skokie Holocaust Museum & Education Center, a 65,000-square-foot building designed by renowned Chicago architect Stanley Tigerman, also draws visitors from near and far and offers exhibits and educational programs. The museum’s permanent exhibition tells the story of the Jews and other minority groups who were persecuted in the Holocaust, with over 500 extraordinary artifacts, documents and photographs. SCULPTURE Another popular attraction drawing visitors outside is the NorthShore Sculpture Park, a magnificent open-air art exhibit of more than 70 sculptures situated along landscaped pathways adjacent to the north channel of the Chicago River.
