Oswego Beats & Eats is a celebration that promotes the variety and importance of music, art, food and culture. Oswego Beats & Eats promotes sustainability, shopping locally and thinking greener, as well as making a contributable difference in the community through various charitable organizations, such as Chicago Bears Care, a scholarship fund for artists and culinary students and other local charities. The organization recently gave a $3,000 check to Fox River Academy of Music & Art to use for student scholarships. Three 2016 events have been scheduled in downtown Oswego: May 28, July 30 & Aug. 27, featuring music, food, shopping and beverages. An official commission of the Village of Oswego, the Cultural Arts Commission establishes, initiates, sponsors, organizes and promotes cultural and artistic programs and services for the enrichment and enjoyment of the Oswego community. The commission sponsors various events throughout the year including LUNAFEST, Literary Festival and the Movies in the Park series. Members of the Cultural Arts Commission include artists, business owners and local community leaders. The commission meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Oswego Village Hall.
