The CVI score assesses a hospital’s performance in four different areas: financ al ab l t and plant reinvestment, cost structure, charge structure and quality performance. These four areas suggest that a hospital should be operating with a high standard of community value, by providing a low cost and low charge, reinvesting
back into their facility, while also providing quality care to their patients. CVI scores are determined by combining the scores in each area.
