The City of Milton was incorporated in 1907. Milton is situated in both Pierce and King Counties, just east of Fife and north of Tacoma. Originally settled around a sawmill and train station, our historic and charming community of over 8,000 residents encompasses 2.78 square miles and sits on a hill with majestic scenic views of the area. The City of Milton prides itself in the quality services provided by our excellent Police Department and popular parks and trails, as well as self-sustaining electric, water and storm drainage utilities. Served by the Fife School District and within 10 miles of 16 college campuses, the list of education and extracurricular opportunities for families is virtually endless. Families also continue to discover and choose Milton, in part because of the quick commute to major employment centers in South Puget Sound – from Tacoma to Kent and Federal Way, to Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Worldclass shopping, theaters, medical centers, museums and professional sporting events, as well as breathtaking scenic drives and national parks, are all within easy reach. Downtown Seattle is 40 minutes away and easily accessible by bus or train. Milton has a rich history of being a genuine, friendly, connected, proactive and caring community. Quality of life is our business. Milton residents enjoy safe and convenient access to community parks, trails, ball parks, a skate park and many other recreational opportunities. City workers, elected officials, civic groups and business leaders work diligently to preserve Milton’s character while still attracting new commercial development at an impressive pace. Whether your business is a start-up, expanding or relocating, you will
