Cimarron Hills like to congratulate members and some of our Cimarron team when they have done something great, completed additional training or have added an addition to their family. We would like to recognize our members as well. Please e-mail Tammy Schneider with information on somebody you would like to recognize. Matt Cimino: Our own Golf Course Superintendent was elected to the Board of Directors for The Central Texas Golf Course Superintendent’s Association. The association covers professionals from Waco to South San Antonio to Marble Falls. Matt will sit on the Educational and Communication Committee and will coordinate speakers and educational programming for local professionals. He has already organized an event in January 2012 that will bring the authority of nematode research, Dr. William Crow from the University of Florida, to the Central Texas area. Dr. Crow will discuss alternate methods to dealing with these problems as the most widely chemical has been taken off of the market. In Cimino’s two-year term, he will work with the association for the betterment of the golf course maintenance industry and scholarships. The newly elected members for 2012 are hopeful that they will provide $8,000 in scholarship money. Along with scholariships, the association also puts together a toy drive every December for the Toys for Tots program. Please congratulate Matt! We are proud to have him at Cimarron Hills and elected to this position. Tammy Schneider: Tammy just recently completed the courses to become a licensed Realtor. She is better known to Cimarron Hills Members as Membership, Marketing & Communications Director and will continue to work within those roles. The Real Estate licensing will prove beneficial in the growth of Cimarron Hills. 2012 will be an important and exciting year for development within our community and Desert Troon has begun investing time and resources to make sure our professional staff is in place. We look forward to a year of growth as a club and a’s to 2012!

G-5 Contouring Treatment Lessen the Appearance of Cellulite! Do you ever feel like you can’t get rid of visual cellulite? No matter how hard you exercise and how well you eat, it’s still there! Are you ever curious as to what you can do to lessen the appearance of cellulite? Come in and try the G-5 contouring treatment. This treatment uses vibratory wave therapy to aid in the breakdown of fat cells into smaller molecules so the body can more easily process them away, while simultaneously increasing lymphatic drainage and circulation. The result is a smoothing out of the dimpled appearance of cellulite. For optimal smoothing results, a series is recommended but you can see improvement to the tissue in one treatment.

Here’s to Your Health! A New Year is upon us, time to wipe clean all of the holiday over indulgence and get back on track for 2012. This year could be the year of healthy lifestyle changes, not just the typical dieting and exercising for a few weeks. With you in mind, Cimarron Spa is again offering body assessments complimentary. We are excited to extend this offer and look forward to seeing great results. It is a pleasure to helping so many people this time a year to understand their bodies and how to improve their overall health and wellness. These assessments take no more than 30 minutes and are a great compliment when starting a workout program with Mike.

Tennis Tips From the Professionals No Man’s Land

Tennis definition of “No Man’s Land”- The area of the court between the baseline and the service line.

Scenario 1

After returning a serve or a groundstroke with no plans of going into the net to volley, move back at least one step behind the baseline. From this position, you will not have to make a difficult deep court volley, and also, you will be absolutely clear on which balls are going in or out. Having to hit a half-volley that deep in the court is usually a losing proposition.

Scenario 2

After returning a serve or groundstroke with the idea of attacking and going toward the net to volley, move in to a spot approximately ONE STEP INSIDE THE SERVICE LINE. This prevents so many balls from landing at your feet. Remember, all players must learn to play in “No Man’s Land.” But the secret is to just hit one ball there. If you hit a ball from “No Man’s Land” and do not wish to go to the net, then move back one step behind the baseline. If you hit a ball from “No Man’s Land” and wish to go to the net, then move up quickly at least one step inside the service line. The most frequent club level mistake is staying in “No Man’s Land” too long. Good luck on the courts!
