The Ellen Campaign - Step 1: The Poem Written by: Renia Pruchnicki on January 8, 2014
Ellen is a vegan, and Truth designs vegan products. We’re a match made in heaven!
The idea & Poem I love humor and silliness. Always have, always will. And that is a huge reason why I like The Ellen Show so much! She is funny, silly, unpredictable, kind and lovely. I was always fond of her. I read one of her books too; not the entire book though because I left it on the back seat of a bus while travelling in Turkey this past summer. But what I did read showed me even more of her wacky, zany sense of humor. I think her and I could be friends! It wasn’t until I found out that she was a vegan that the idea kicked in. Because you see, I just happen to own a vegan products company, specializing in vegan belts, which I started in 2001. But you already know that, because you’re on my website! One day in early 2013 the idea that I was to be a guest on her show popped into my head. Why not? I mean, it would be a great experience and I would get to meet a very cool person. Her and I both love to dance. It would be a challenge too, and I love challenges! And I think she would enjoy my vegan products!
But mostly because, while I am here on this Earth I would like to make a difference in this crazy world by inspiring people the way people have inspired me! I’d like to help people make different choices that could help our beautiful planet. I am a huge believer in visualization and the power of positive thinking. I spend time every morning and evening meditating. I know it works because I have manifested things into my life as a result. It’s really cool! So I decided I would use these techniques to get me on the show.
Ellen Would Love Truth’s Vegan Products! Now of course, any strategy has to be taken in steps. Here are my steps so far: First, I decided on the idea. After all, you can’t achieve your goals if you don’t know exactly what they are, can you? The next phase is one of the most important to me. I visualized it happening! If you keep your dreams in your mind all the time, you’ll be able to see more opportunities to make them a reality. Now that I had my dream in place and a strong base of visualization, it was time to take action! I hired a Toronto digital marketing company called Cloud Surfing Media to redesign the online homes for my vegan products,www.truthbelts.com and www.vegetarianbelts.com. In our first meeting they asked me what my goals were. I told them loud and clear, “I want to be on the Ellen Show!” At the time, my on-line store was www.vegetarianbelts.com. I decided that I wanted to redesign it into a cute page that would redirect people to my brand new website and on-line store at www.truthbelts.com. And at the same time, I wanted to use it as an “Ellen call-out” page.
The Poem I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to unleash the first step in my multi-step campaign which was to write Ellen a poem! So that’s what I did! I wrote a poem to Ellen, where I tell her how much I’d love to be on her show. It’s silly and tacky, but I love it! And if you mouse over the pictures of the Truth Belts on that page, you can see little thought bubbles popping up dedicated to Ellen! Ellen had a campaign to be on the cover of Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine, and I’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from that. Hey, it worked for Ellen!
So as this was all happening, a huge change came into my life. You see, I started Truth in 2001, but it was something that I always did on the side. 13 years ago, vegan belts were not as popular as they are today. I have been working as a product designer for the best insulated cooler company on the planet called California Innovations. I worked there for 11 years, while I ran Truth on the side. It was an amazing job that I really enjoyed, even though they weren’t vegan products (well, some were vegan products!) In November of 2013, I was laid off and received a severance package! For me it felt like I had won the lottery! I felt like the wind was at my back. What perfect timing! I had just come out with my new website at www.truthbelts.com and step 1 in the Ellen campaign was already underway. Now, there was nothing stopping me from reaching for my dream of getting onto the Ellen show. I decided that I was going to work my ass off! My goal is to be on the Ellen show, talking about my vegan belts, teaching Ellen a simple dance that I think she would love, and high-fiving her sometime before July of 2014 (because that’s my birthday). And, it’s also the birthday of the United States of America (and Canada)! Woohoo!!! Do you have any ideas or suggestions? I’d love to hear from you if you do! I could use all the help I can get! And please….. for the love of God, please go to www.vegetarianbelts.com to read the poem and click on the link that will take you to the Ellen Show page. Most importantly, it would be great if you actually left the Ellen Show people a message about this campaign! I thank you for your support! If you have any ideas as to what some of my steps could be, I am all ears.
