Welcome to the 4220; your local guide to everything happening in the community. Home to Queensland’s most beautiful beaches, vibrant social scene, boastful community spirit and electric atmosphere, the 4220 is the place I am fortunate enough to call home I’ve been lucky enough to specialise in this area for over 5 years and it is here where I really fell in love with the surroundings and the people, and exactly where I plan to stay. We developed this magazine to help new homeowners find their feet and to showcase what this incredible community has to offer. In this booklet you will find, the must-dos, any upcoming events, a history about the area, and a few of my own personal favourite places to eat and drink. So whether you’re reading this by the seaside, or enjoying a cup of coffee whilst getting your hair done at the local salon, whatever it is, I hope you sit back, enjoy & let me run you through why the 4220 is the best suburb yet.

A Brief History of A Brief History
“4220 Extendes as far north as Miami Headland and all the way down to Tallebudgera Creek”
Burleigh Heads’ surf break attracts surfers from the Gold Coast and beyond. Home to local sandminer’s of the time, the township itself was the site of early development including restaurants and guest houses to support the increasing interest in bathing that took place in the last years of the 19th century. In the 1920s, prospective investors built their wooden or fibro bungalows and spent their holidays by the beach, or rented the cottages to
other holiday makers. Burleigh Waters was developed much later during the late 1970s. Burleigh Waters was the southernmost point of the Gold Coast canal and waterway system. Now, 4220 is one of the most popular postcodes on the coast. Regularly being featured in the news for their wonderful local attractions, surf comps and excellent activities, its easy to see why you chose to buy here.
New Developments There are 24 new developments planned to be built in and around Burleigh Heads in the coming few years. This is great news for the area, bringing more jobs and a greater buzz to 4220. One of the stand outs is the new tower being built across from Burleigh Beach, Norfolk. A boutique developemnt of 10 stories, and 20 apartments this is what Luxury Living in Burleigh is all about. Contact me to find out more.
New Callisthenics Park Has Opened The new callisthenics equipment is set up in Rudd Park, Goodwin Terrace, Burleigh Heads and is getting quite a workout as athletes head to the picturesque location to test it. New Eats Burleigh Heads Japanese restaurant paying homage to the delicious okonomiyaki pancake. Oi Izakaya, tucked away in a James Street Arcade foodie hub, opened in July and is the brainchild of two mates Troy O’Shea and Steven Thompson. “Our head chef’s from Tokyo, he’s a fourth-generation sushi chef”. Oi Izakaya is open Wednesday to Sunday at 4/30 James St, Burleigh Heads.
Stage 3A of the Light Rail
Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3A from Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads is the proposed third stage of a world class public transport system for residents and visitors to the Gold Coast. The Queensland Government, in partnership with the City of Gold Coast, finalised and submitted the Stage 3A Detailed Business Case to the independent
infrastructure advisor, Building Queensland. The business case was endorsed by Building Queensland in December 2018.
Should funding be made available, the project would then appoint a design and construction partner. It will take around 3 years to build Stage 3A, with the possibility of trams operating to Burleigh Heads in 2023.

Gold Coast Whale Festival A whale festival will be held on the Gold Coast for the first time on Saturday 31 August 2019 at Burleigh Beach. Organised by Humpbacks and Highrises (HHR), a local NGO, the festival hopes to increase awareness in the local community about the need to care for our oceans and the migrating

Having three of the top rated brewery’s is no small feat. Burleigh Brewing Company, Black Hops Brewery along with Lost Palms Brewing Company all reside in 4220 and are all worth a visit. Check out their event pages for all their events.
Eat, Drink and Be Merry We have no shortage of phenomenal eats in 4220, from the best cafe on the Gold Coast (Paddock Bakery) to award winning restaurants (Rick Shores) there is something for everyone. The “Hill” A stunning park right atop Burleigh Headland, there are views all the way to Surfers Paradise. Each weekend, picnic and barbecues are plentiful with the grassy hill area a popular destination for locals and holidaymakers. Bring your own picnic, or grab a take away meal or coffee from the coffee shops nearby.
Miami Marketta It is right here in Miami on the Gold Coast. Marketta Street Food, a lane-way dining experience. 25 food vendors of all nationalities in the one space, take your entrée from Spain, your main from Thailand and sweets from France. Seating for over 650 people at any one time AND always awesome live music. Open to the public for Street Food every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Spotlight Paddock Bakery If you thought it were not possible to love Paddock Bakery any more, along comes news that this adored Miami cafe—with its whimsical, fairy tale-like garden and drool-worthy baked treats—is adding a swag of new features and nooks to explore. From a milk bar window with old school milkshakes and ice creams, florist pop ups to whispers of a dude’s den and an upper-level western-facing deck that oozes potential all on the horizon, soon you’ll be lingering even longer at this buzzing destination cafe. The corner block’s original 1950s homestead was raised up among the treetops back in the 70s, and has sat quietly above the cafe’s garden terrace for the past four years, until now. Utilising the original cottage details and timber, today it’s been lovingly converted into a venue to be enjoyed by all. Filled with French antiques, airy and sundrenched with a leafy outlook into the trees, pair that with dedicated waiter service and Paddock catering, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a dreamy private function location.
