Community development programs JSW Jaigarh Port has built an Ice Factory with capacity to produce 25 tons of ice per day for ﬁshermen in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Fishermen’s Coop Society is managing the factory and the factory had turned out to be boon for the local ﬁshermen solving their storage problem. In addition to this, the Company has donated GPS & Fish finders& fish nets to villagers at Jaigad, Nandivade, Dhakati, Jambhari depending on the boat size. 2000 ﬁshermen attended the ﬁsherman guidance programme at the plant. Additionally in the region JSW Energy has sponsored 50 students for undergoing Diploma Course in Engineering at Lonere, the graduates will be absorbed in the Jaigarh Power project. In a health initiative the company has started ambulance service for the local villagers to reach to Ratnagiri District hospital in emergency cases. Two ambulances have been donated till now. Restoration of Primary Health Center
ITI adoption JSW Vasind Works had undertaken the restoration work of ITI Shahpur. JSW has adopted this ITI under Public- Private Partnership scheme, where government and private organizations will be developing 1396 ITI’s for quality training & better employability. In the ﬁrst phase the company has re-installed the power supply to the institute and also renovating the building.
Primary Health Centre JSW Vasind Works undertook the upgradation work of Primary Health Centre at Vasind. The Primary Health Centre provides necessary preventive and curative medical facility in rural India. Primary Health Centre at Vasind serves to over 55,000 populations. The Vasind PHC did not have even essential amenities like water supply to the centre and was lacking in basic infrastructure to function a medical centre. Renovation work has been initiated

by the Vasind Works, piped water supply to the hospital rooms and residential accommodation has been upgraded, the medicine storage room is renovated. The operation room has also been sanitised and additional toilets have been provided in the campus. Toilets and sewage facility had also been upgraded. Mr. Mukund Gorakshkar, Group Head, CSR said that, “We have also installed new maternity ward and will provide fresh medical equipments to this centre”.
A committee has been formed to develop and implement the Institute Development Plan, the committee is also working on a plan to improve the industry linkage with ITI’s for better exposure & employability of passed out students.
