Welcomes New 2018-2019 Faculty & Staff EVIE BOWMAN, Middle School Administrative Assistant
Evie Bowman joins Trinity Valley School as our Middle School administrative assistant. Evie brings more than 10 years of relevant experience across a range of office settings. Most recently, Evie spent the last seven years as legal administrative assistant and billing coordinator at Dismuke & Waters P.C. Prior to her time at Dismuke & Waters, Evie served as administrative assistant at Crème de la Crème, a prominent pre-school and early learning center in Colleyville, Texas. Evie is excited to return to a school environment, where she enjoys positively interacting with students, parents, and teachers.
BRANDON CLINE, Upper School World Language Teacher
Dr. Cline comes to TVS to serve as the Upper School Latin instructor. In that role, he will teach all levels of Latin, including Advanced Placement. Brandon has extensive training in the Latin language at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the graduate level, he successfully completed milestone examinations in the target language. Brandon has experience teaching religion at the University of Chicago and Texas Christian University (TCU). In 2011-2012, the University of Chicago honored him with an award for excellence in course design and assessment. Brandon most recently served as the director of advancement at TCU’s Brite Divinity School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in classical and religious studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Brandon later attended the University of Chicago where he earned a Master of Divinity, a Master of Arts, and a Ph.D. in New Testament and early Christian literature. Brandon has experience in travel leadership and archaeological fieldwork and looks forward to sharing his many talents with the TVS community.
SHANNON COLLINS, Third-grade Teacher
Mrs. Shannon Collins will be joining the third-grade team at Trinity Valley School. Mrs. Collins earned a Bachelor of Science, with a specialization in elementary education, as well as a Master of Educational Administration degree from East Texas State University. Mrs. Collins taught second and third grade before becoming the director of the Fort Worth Museum School. She has a strong background in peer mediation, vertical alignment of curriculum, and cognitive coaching. Mrs. Collins has TVS family - a daughter, Tara Jane (Class of 2016), and a son, Michael (Class of 2019).
GERRY CUMPIANO, Annual Giving Manager
Mr. Cumpiano is returning to TVS after having taught Middle School Spanish here from 2012-2016. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from TCU, and recently graduated with a master’s degree in educational leadership from TCU. He is married to TVS alumna, Kelly Kyle ’08. Prior to his first experience at TVS, Gerry worked in the development office and taught Spanish at Wayland Academy in Wisconsin. He is looking forward to reconnecting at TVS.
EILEEN FORD, Educational Technology Specialist
Ms. Ford has a Bachelor of Arts in history and minors in both Spanish and psychology from Texas Tech University. She also has a master’s in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in language and literacy education from Texas Tech. She comes to us from Duchesne Academy of The Sacred Heart in Houston where she served the school as its educational technology support manager. Prior to that, she was Duchesne’s educational technologist, digital media teacher, and an advisor. Ms. Ford is also an alumna of Duchesne. Ms. Ford is married and the mother of two children.
JUSTIN FLOWERS, Middle School Drama Teacher
Mr. Flowers joins Trinity Valley School as Middle School drama teacher. Justin served the last seven years as drama teacher at W. C. Stripling Middle School in Fort Worth. At Stripling, he led his students to multiple UIL-winning performances, including a first-place award for a play he authored himself. Since 2006, Justin has served as educational director at Stage West Theater, where he leads classes for pre-k through college-aged students and directs the summer conservatory program. In addition to his teaching, Justin remains prolific within Fort Worth community theater, performing frequently in productions for Stage West and Circle Theater. Justin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Wesleyan University. Justin looks forward to carrying on the wonderful tradition and grandeur of drama in the Middle School at TVS.
SHON HARDY, Athletic Director
A stand-out athlete in high school, Mr. Hardy played football at North Carolina State while serving as a high school coach as he earned his Bachelor of Arts in multidisciplinary studies (his concentration was in sport management, and his minor was in physical education with an emphasis in coaching). He then became the assistant women’s basketball coach at Northeastern University. He joined Ravenscroft School, an outstanding K-12 independent school, where he taught physical education and coached basketball and track & field, before assuming administrative responsibilities in the athletic department. Most recently, he was the athletic director at Episcopal Collegiate in Little Rock, Arkansas and is finishing his master’s degree in athletic administration. He and his wife, Allison, have been married for five years.
ERIN CLAIRE ISBELL, Second-grade Teacher
Ms. Erin Claire Isbell joins the second-grade team at TVS. Ms. Isbell is a familiar face at Trinity Valley, as she has been a sought-after substitute teacher. For the past three years, Ms. Isbell taught kindergarten in Northwest ISD. While in the district, she was a staff ambassador as well as a conference presenter regarding how to build literacy stations. Additionally, she modeled methods of teaching and grading students through rubrics for Grades 1-3, 4-6, and 7-8. Ms. Isbell brings with her certifications in the area of gifted and talented training.
ALEJANDRA MARKEL, Lower School World Language Teacher
Mrs. Alejandra Markel will be teaching Lower School Spanish at Trinity Valley School. Mrs. Markel earned her degree from the Universidad Catolica, Boliviana. She also holds an endorsement in administrative tourism. She taught preschool Spanish for seven years, before beginning a new journey substituting and tutoring students at TVS. During her career, she has provided translation services and Spanish tutoring to students ages six to 16. She has a strong passion for painting, as well as all things culinary. Mrs. Markel has TVS family - a son, Nathan (Class of 2024).
PAULINE MEDLIN, Lower School Music, Choir, and OAKE Teacher
Mrs. Medlin is our Lower School Music teacher at Trinity Valley School. Mrs. Medlin earned a bachelorâ€™s in music education from Baylor University and a masterâ€™s in music education from Southern Methodist University. She has taught music education for five years, conducted numerous choirs, and directed many plays, programs, and concerts while teaching in the Arlington ISD. In 2016-2017, Pauline was the recipient of the prestigious Aware Foundation Award, recognizing exceptional teaching throughout the entire district.
CHINUA MELTON, Fourth-grade Teacher
Mr. Melton will be joining the fourth-grade team at Trinity Valley School. Mr. Melton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, with a specialization in psychology, from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and a Master of Arts, with a specialization in educational leadership and policy studies, from The University of Texas at Arlington. Mr. Melton brings 10 years of teaching experience to TVS, most recently instructing math in the Mansfield ISD. He has sponsored myriad clubs, including Robotics, Math Olympiad, and Destination Imagination.
LAURA MONTGOMERY, Seventh-grade Math Teacher
Mrs. Montgomery returns to Trinity Valley School to serve as seventh-grade math teacher. Most recently, Laura has been curriculum coordinator and assistant head of Upper School at Lake Country Christian School, and prior to that taught eighth-grade science here at TVS from 2011-2015. Though Laura has taught both science and math over her 15-year career, her first passion remains the mathematics classroom, where she has taught middle- and upper-school math, including Geometry, Algebra II, and AP Calculus AB. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Master of Education in mathematics education, both from Vanderbilt University. We are thrilled to welcome Laura back to TVS, and she too is excited to rejoin her colleagues and the students and families of Trinity Valley.
DAVE OSTROFF, Upper School Social Studies Teacher
Dr. Ostroff joins the Trinity Valley School as the Upper School social studies department chair and instructor of AP United States history. Prior to arriving at TVS, Dave served numerous schools on the East Coast and in Texas. Most recently, Dave served as the K-12 social studies department chair at Lakehill Preparatory School (Dallas, Texas) and as the head of Upper School at Emery/Weiner School (Houston, TX). Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, a Master of Liberal Studies from Southern Methodist University, and a Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University. Dave is an experienced teacher and coach and looks forward to becoming involved in the TVS community.
ALEX PERRYMAN, Second-grade Teacher
Mr. Perryman will be joining the second-grade team at Trinity Valley School. Mr. Perryman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from TCU, with an early childhood education endorsement. He has taught various grade levels in elementary settings, most recently as a third-grade teacher. In addition to teaching in a classroom, he has tutored students in math, written and implemented accelerated math curriculum, served as grade-level team leader, and coached Club and TVS volleyball. Mr. Perryman is a proud alumnus from the TVS Class of 2006.
BRANDON RISENHOOVER, Upper School Social Studies Teacher
Mr. Risenhoover will teach ninth- and 10th-grade history courses. Brandon previously served as a social studies teacher and department chair at the Classen School of Advanced Studies (Oklahoma City, OK) and as a teacher and International Baccalaureate diploma program coordinator at the International School of Neustadt (Neustadt, Germany). Brandon earned dual bachelors in business administration and theological studies from Southwestern Christian University and a Master of Arts in history from Central Oklahoma University. In addition to teaching, Brandon is a passionate coach, outdoor enthusiast, and teambuilder.
LARISSA SOSA, Fourth-grade Teacher
Mrs. Sosa will be joining the fourth-grade team at Trinity Valley School. Mrs. Sosa earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, where she was a distinguished honors graduate. She is presently in the process of completing a Master of Education, Educational Leadership and Policy at The University of Texas at Arlington. Mrs. Sosa brings nine years of teaching experience to TVS, most recently teaching fourth grade. Her strengths include differentiation of instruction and collaboration with peers and parents, as well as building positive relationships with students.
TIM VASQUEZ, Director of Security
Mr. Vasquez has 26 years of experience in the security field with expertise in criminal investigations, physical security, and emergency preparedness. He managed a department with the United States Postal Inspection Service that investigated every imaginable crime against the government and conducted numerous trainings regarding workplace violence and active-shooter situations. He was involved in security for Super Bowl 45 and the NBA All Star game. He also has been an agency firearms instructor and has had top-secret security clearance since 1990. Tim and his wife Gloria are the parents of five wonderful children, all Trinity Valley School graduates.
VAN WILLIAMS, Technical Theatre Director
Mr. Williams served as theatre production manager at Arts Council of Fort Worth, season production manager at TCU Opera in Fort Worth, technical director at African American Repertory Theatre in Dallas, and deputy production manager at Carnival Corporation. Van holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre production from Tarleton State University. We are thrilled to welcome Van to TVS, and look forward to seeing his work in the theatre with our students.
KAILIN YUAN, Middle School Chinese Teacher
Ms. Yuan comes to Trinity Valley School as seventh- and eighth-grade Chinese teacher. Ms. Yuan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Southwest University School of Chinese language and literature in Chongqing, China and a Master of Education in instruction and learning from the University of Pittsburgh. After serving as a Chinese language instructor at the University of Pittsburgh, Kailin spent the last two years teaching lower- and middle-school Chinese at the Arlington and North Richland Hills campuses of International Leadership of Texas, a cohort of K-8 charter schools across the state. We are excited to have Kailin in the TVS Middle School, where her deep understanding of language instruction will positively impact our MS Chinese-language students.
