FA L L Day 9

Renewing Activity: Yoga Jesus, I love you. What’s in it for you? These words were written on a chalkboard. Notice it does not say what’s in it for me? His love, His dying, un-ending passionate love and Himself that is my reward and that is what is in it for me! So what is it in for Jesus? What is in it for the Lamb of God – the King of all Kings – the One uncreated – the One who was before all things yet is in all things – what is in it for Him? Ever wondered that or are you too busy thinking of yourself ?

Day 10 Renewing Activity: Yoga The way you invest your love; you invest your life An investment is defined first as the act of investing effort or resources and second as a commitment, as of support or time. Thus to invest your love is to put forth a commitment, an effort, to give time and support to that one thing. So what is that one thing? What are you investing in today? And is what you are investing in worth what you are investing? If you are investing hundreds of hours at a job you love at the expense of your family, is that the life you want? If you are investing your love toward a hobby, is that what you want your life to be remembered for? If you were to ask your family, friends or even coworkers where you invest your love (thus your life) – what do you think they would say?

Day 11 Renewing Activity: Yoga The pull of religion can be far stronger than the freedom of relationship. Jacobsen calls it “daisy-petal Christianity” referring to the childhood game, “He loves me, He loves me not.” The adult version goes something like this, I got the promotion at work –He loves me…I did not get a raise – He loves me not…I gave money to someone in need – He loves me…My child is seriously ill – He loves me not…I got a note of encouragement – He loves me…My car’s transmission went out – He loves me not… and on and on. This game wears us out keeping us stressed out as we constantly try to discern if God loves us or not. Jacobsen writes, “So it is time to toss the daisies and discover that it is not the fear of losing God’s love that will keep you on His path but the simple joy of living in it every day.” So are you willing to toss the daisy?
