FA L L Second Corinthians 10:3-4 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” What battle are you facing right now and how are you warring against it? Are you using man’s wisdom or Gods’? S. Ferguson says, “As in all warfare, the two essential elements in victory is to know your enemy and know your resources”. Know your enemy – anticipate the battle – intercede and know your resource. Exodus 14:14 declares, “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Jesus is not passively interceding for you – His love is active – purposely and passionately warring for you. He loves you and fights for your heart. That is His warfare and that is His intercession.

Day 2 Renewing Activity: Yoga You came along and told me why I exist. Think back to your childhood (or maybe even to last week)– what words were spoken over you? What words do you remember the most? Do these words cause you to lift your head up or turn away in shame? Have you recognized the words you speak over yourself, your spouse, your children and your friends? A song I heard stated, ‘I was aimless, wandering without purpose, I was shipwrecked, I was abandoned and then You came along and told me why I exist.’ Christ has come alongside me to tell me who I am and why I exist. I no longer have to wander aimlessly because I am not abandoned. He tells us why we exist and He does it through the talents He gives us. He does it through our intimate times with Him. He does it through our school, work and home life. He does it through our successes and failures. He does it through our friends and family. The question is, do you receive the words He speaks over you?

Day 3 Renewing Activity: Yoga I am free in Christ. Ever wonder what that truly means? I am sure it has multiple – deep – profound meanings but in its’ simplest, purest form, what does “I am free in Christ” mean? Does it mean that because of the freedom we have in Christ, we can do whatever we want? Surely no but that is the way many act. I know I have acted like that many times. Using “my freedom” in Christ to justify certain actions. S. Storm writes, “Christian liberty is itself a good thing. But when wrongly used, it can bring disgrace on the gospel.” How are you using your freedom?
