SOPHISTICATED DESIGN IDEAS FOR THE LIVING ROOM

INTRO

When renovating a flat, the first two places you think of are the bathroom and kitchen. However, from the point of view of a decorator, the living room is much more important, because it is the first room that guests see.  This is the one place, which should reflect your aesthetic and personal taste.  If finances are bothering you, there are plenty of ideas to make the room look luxurious, which you can use even on a budget.

TIPS TO BEAUTIFY YOUR READY TO OCCUPY FLATS IN ERNAKULAM Hanging Large-Scale Art Using Simple Styling Camouflaging the TV Setting Up a Sculptural Item Place Something That Has a History

HANGING LARGE-SCALE ART Get an oversized painting and hang it on one of the walls, leaving it otherwise bare. This makes a focal point and adds to the wow factor.  Be on the lookout for art of this kind when you visit a flea market or thrift store, although do not overpay.  Alternatively, head in another direction and make your own piece, saving some money in the process.

USING SIMPLE STYLING If your living room is over-accessorized, or worse, cluttered, the first thing people will notice is the veritable mess, which defeats the purpose of appearing sophisticated. Trim all that down to just the pieces you find valuable sentimentally.  Simplifying the space will let these items shine, and selling off the rest can net you some cash as well.

CAMOUFLAGING THE TV The image of sophisticated luxury usually involves a huge black TV placed smack in the center of a bare wall. Consider concealing your TV with fancy mirrors, and if that seems expensive, then try making a gallery wall instead.  This will not make the TV disappear, but will blend its frame in with the new addition, distracting guests.

SETTING UP A SCULPTURAL ITEM This is a good way to prevent the oppressive effect of straight lines and circles. Bring in an unusual side chair or a treeroot coffee table, as long as it manages to look like a piece of art.

PLACE SOMETHING THAT HAS A HISTORY Bring in a piece that has some age to it, and maybe even a story regarding past ownership. This can be a mirror, a side table, or an accessory, to name a few possibilities.  The older it is, the better it will be.  To grab such items, stay sharp when browsing through stuff at a flea market or thrift store, and do not buy over your budget.

The above are some ways to beautify your ready to occupy flats in OPEN HOUSE ON Ernakulam. You can make up some of MAY 2019 your own and try3, those out as well.
