MY WORK Old Navy, Gap Inc. 2008-2011. 01_Designed & conceptualized successful in-store, campaign-related and promotional pieces for the marketing department. 02_Co-managed all steps leading up to production including color and photo retouching. 03_Regularly presented design concepts and execution to marketing leaders. 04_Collaborated w/ program management and print-production teams to create marketing that met the company’s financial targets despite a tough retail economy.

01_ROCK ON. This piece was so much fun to work on! Old Navy’s preferred customers received this adorable direct mail a few weeks prior to the Kids & Baby Sale. The concept that season was pop music so we created three distinct music band scenarios for our three kid’s categories. What really makes this piece is the added layer of illustration that I integrated into the photography. It gives it that cool, pop quality. PROJECT_ Direct Mail

02_Stock up! Wa-a-ay up! The concept behind the marketing for Old Navy’s annual summer fundamentals sale is found in the tagline, “stock up! way up!”. Clothing stacks piled high like skyscrapers, the pricing housed in clouds and the logo filling up the shape of a blimp all support the concept. I was at the photoshoot for this project helping to capture the illusion of height and was responsible for creating all the creative, guided by my trusty art director, James Yong. 03_THE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT This was a marketing system that was created for stores that are moving, re-opening, remodeling or being built. I loved designing for this project because I was encouraged to break out of the “brand box”. The creative has a DIY aesthetic and I drew all the type and illustrations myself. It was also the first time I ever designed a store barricade(40” x 20”! big!). The system included window posters, t-stand posters, direct mail, email invites and aprons. 04_YOU-NIFORMS EVENT This is another example of an annual sale, this one promoting kid’s uniform clothing that happens at the end of the Summer. We decided that we wanted to try and capture the individual expression of kids; the “you” in uniform. I helped to cast the models in this campaign and was responsible for initial concepting and designing of all the creative. PROJECT_ You-niforms Event WHEN_ August 2010 MY ROLE_ Designer, Illustrator

05_SAFETY SQUAD The Safety Squad creative was a smaller in-store event that had as an objective to support community building within stores. Old Navy brought in policemen and other local heroes in an effort to educate kids about safety. It was pretty clear right away that superheroes was the concept because it’s both fun and very Old Navy. The system included a t-stand poster, a stage easel, coloring sheets, a thank you note to the guests and an in-store game. PROJECT_ Safety Event
