PROJECTS

Keeping in Touch Project

Thompson Park Activity Center offers many things to many people: education, resources, humanities courses, creative outlets and a place to socialize. An underlying value within these opportunities is the relationships and connections participants make with each other. Barbra Streisand said it best: ” People, people who need people, are the luckiest people in the world.” People connect because of shared interests and values. We know that our lives are enriched because of our friends, including the friends we’ve met at Thompson Park. Often, when we don’t see a familiar face for awhile, we wonder why. Maybe you are one of the people we’ve been missing. To help keep our connections with each other, we are working on a way to keep in touch. If you are wondering how a missing friend is or if you know someone who would appreciate hearing from us, please stop by the desk at TPAC and pick up a card for your friend. We will make sure it is mailed. If you haven't been able to attend a class or event at TPAC for any reason, please give us a call and let us know how you are. Keeping In Touch is sponsored by Umbrella Projects.

Support TPAC at this tasty event! Call 651-403-8300 to be a vendor or to add something to the craft fair. THOMPSON TIMES - September - October 2017

Octagon Victorian House at Christmas

This unusual eight-sided house, located in Hudson, Wisconsin, was built in 1855 and has recently been beautifully restored. It was home to Judge John Moffat who came to Hudson from New York. It is furnished with artifacts and antiques from early life in the St. Croix Valley. The Octagon House will be decorated for Christmas, both inside and out, including the carriage house. It is truly a marvelous sight to see. The tour includes a holiday buffet at Lake Elmo Inn.
