North Dakota Department of Health has extended the period for submitting public comment until November 6, 2009, on the proposed adoption of a rule to the Standards of Quality for Waters of the State, N.D. Admin. Code ch. 33-16-02.1. The rule will change the maximum level of sulfate from 450 to 750 milligrams per liter in the segment of the Sheyenne River that runs from its headwaters to 0.1 mile downstream of the Baldhill Dam, including Lake Ashtabula.
