A William and Mary alumnus and former Tribe student athletic trainer, Andy Carter returns to the Tribe sidelines for his eighth year as the Head Football Athletic Trainer, overseeing the sports medicine services for the team. Carter received his B.S. in Kinesiology from the College of William and Mary in 1998. He then attended Illinois State University where he earned his M.S. in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation with an emphasis in Sports Management. Carter joined the Tribe sports medicine staff in 2000. In addition to his clinical responsibilities at the College, Carter is also involved in sports medicine education on many levels. Since 2000, he has been an instructor for the ACES Preparatory Workshop, a course designed to prepare athletic training students to take the national board exam. He developed and continues to coordinate the Sports Medicine rotation for the Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program and has also served as an instructor in the SMART (Sideline Management Assessment Response Techniques) Workshop for physicians. He coordinates the Athletic Training Aide program in which pre-med and pre-physical therapy students work alongside the staff in the clinic and on the field. Carter serves a Clinical Instructor for the Post-Professional Athletic Training Educational program at Old Dominion University, and, each spring, he teaches a course on the evaluation and treatment of the spine. Originally from Fieldale, Va., Carter resides in Williamsburg with his wife, Kristina, who is a physical therapist at the Advanced Specialty Center of Williamsburg Physical Therapy, and their son, Spencer.

Bryce Mueller joined the staff of the Division of Sports Medicine in July of 2008. Prior to coming to W&M, he completed his undergraduate work in athletic training at the University of Northern Iowa and his masterâ€™s degree in athletic training at West Virginia University. While at West Virginia University, he worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for a local high school. Mueller primarily works with the football and baseball teams at William and Mary. Mueller is originally from New London, Iowa and currently resides in Williamsburg.
