The Armor of God 1. Introduction 1.Tim 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses.

The Amplified Bible [Eph 6, 10 - Eph 6, 18]: [10] In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. [11] Put on God's whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies {and} the deceits of the devil. [12] For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. [13] Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist {and} stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. [14] Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity [Integrit채t, Anstand]{and} of moral rectitude [Geradheit, Rechtschaffenheit] {and} right standing with God, [15] And having shod [beschlagen] your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. [16] Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. [17] And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields [das der Geist benutzt], which is the Word of God.

Verses 11 und 13 show that it is our task to activate the Armor that is supplied by God How do we activate it (put in on) ? Do I pray, Lord please put me on your armor ? What is the Armor ? What do you know about the armor ? Vs 11: [...] that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies {and} the deceits of the devil. In other words: without the Armor of God put on, it is not possible to successfully stand and fight against the devil and his cohords

2. Helmet of Salvation 1.1.

Introduction

What is Salvation? What is the Baptism in water? Do we need it? We know: (2.Kor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh {and} new has come!) But when do we become a new creation??? When AM I in CHRIST??? Hes 11:19 And I will give them one heart [a new heart] and I will put a new spirit within them; and I will take the stony [unnaturally hardened] heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh [sensitive and responsive to the touch of their God],

Well then, as one man's trespass [one man's false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man's act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal {and} right standing with God and life for all men.

Röm 5:18

And he brought them out [of the dungeon] and said, Men, what is it necessary for me to do that I may be saved?

Apg 16:30

And they answered, Believe in the Lord Jesus {Christ} [give yourself up to Him, take yourself out of your own keeping and entrust yourself into His keeping] and you will be saved, [and this applies both to] you and your household as well.

Apg 16:31

Kol 2:13 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions, Joh 3:5 Jesus

answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God.

1.2.

Jesus, my Saviour – first element of Salvation

Joh 3:3 Jesus

answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God. Röm 10:9 Because if you acknowledge {and} confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Röm 10:10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) {and} confirms [his] salvation. Röm 10:13 For

everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.

Eph 2:8 For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment {and} made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

Mt 26:28 For this is My blood of the {new} covenant, which [ratifies the agreement and] is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Lk 15:24 Because

this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found! And they began to revel {and} feast {and} make merry.

1.Joh 4:15 Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God. Joh 1:12 But to as many as did receive {and} welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—

1.3.

Waterbaptism – second element of Salvation

Joh 3:5 Jesus

answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God.

Joh 12:24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others {and} yields a rich harvest. Preliminaries for Waterbaptism Apg 8:36 And

as they continued along on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch exclaimed, See, [here is] water! What is to hinder my being baptized?

Apg 8:37 {And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart [if you have a conviction, full of joyful trust, that Jesus is the Messiah and accept Him as the Author of your salvation in the kingdom of God, giving Him your obedience, then] you may. And he replied, I do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Apg 2:41 Therefore

those who accepted {and} welcomed his message were baptized, and there were added that day about 3,000 souls.

Röm 6:3 Are

you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Röm 6:4 We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live {and} behave in newness of life. Röm 6:5 For if we have become one with Him by sharing a death like His, we shall also be [one with Him in sharing] His resurrection [by a new life lived for God]. Röm 6:6 We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective {and} inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. Röm 7:2 For [instance] a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives; but if her husband dies, she is loosed {and} discharged from the law concerning her husband. Röm 7:3 Accordingly, she will be held an adulteress if she unites herself to another man while her husband lives. But if her husband dies, the marriage law no longer is binding on her [she is free from that law]; and if she unites herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.

Röm 7:4 Likewise, my brethren, you have undergone death as to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that now you may belong to Another, to Him Who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God. Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Kol 3:3 For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. --> Now I AM in CHRIST

But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin {and} guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you]. Röm 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ {Jesus} from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you. Röm 8:10

Joh 1:13 Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]

Sign for our NEw Life: 1.Joh 3:14 We

know that we have passed over out of death into Life by the fact that we love the brethren (our fellow Christians). He who does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in [spiritual] death.

1.4.

Baptism of the Holy Ghost – third element of Salvation

Lk 11:13 If

you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask {and} continue to ask Him!

Mt 3:11 I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy {or} fit to take off {or} carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

For John baptized with water, but not many days from now you shall be baptized with (placed in, introduced into) the Holy Spirit.

Apg 1:5

But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

Apg 1:8

Teaching: Gifts of the Holy Spirit Ministry Gifts

1.5.

After Salvation

1.Pet 2:1 SO BE done with every trace of wickedness (depravity, malignity) and all deceit and insincerity (pretense, hypocrisy) and grudges (envy, jealousy) and slander {and} evil speaking of every kind. 1.Pet 2:2 Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured {and} grow unto [completed] salvation, 1.Pet 2:3 Since you have [already] tasted the goodness {and} kindness of the Lord.

For while we are still in this tent, we groan under the burden {and} sigh deeply (weighed down, depressed, oppressed)--not that we want to put off the body (the clothing of the spirit), but rather that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal (our dying body) may be swallowed up by life [after the resurrection].

2.Kor 5:4

1.Pet 1:22 Since by your obedience to the Truth {through the} [{Holy} ] {Spirit} you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that you] love one another fervently from a {pure} heart. 1.Pet 1:23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the {ever} living and lasting Word of God. Eph 4:24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness. Heb 9:22 [In fact] under the Law almost everything is purified by means of blood, and without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin {and} its guilt {nor} the remission of the due {and} merited punishment for sins. 1.Joh 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned {and} confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

Summary

The Helmet of Salvation is part of the Armor of God, supplied by God Our Job is to put the Armor on and never put it off We put it on by (1) beeing aware of the meaning of each part of it and (2) releasing Gods life in us throught the putting on of the new man (creation) [which includes the renewing of the mind] and (3) speaking Gods word continueously against the situations of our lifes until things that were not, manifest in our lifes. Put on the Helmet, filled with Jesus Blood, that covers you 2.Mo 12:13 The blood shall be for a token {or} sign to you upon [the doorposts of] the houses where you are, [that] when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt. See the Helmet as Roof, covering you from above
