online bred gilt sale
sale details DECEMBER 6th We are incredibly excited about this bred female event and the each of the matings in the offering! It’s one that we began planning for earlier this summer and right from the outset we intended for it to be a collection of elite females mated to the country’s hottest sires. This would not be a group of leftover gilts nor spent sows! The gilts were either keeper gilts from last year’s crop or hand-picked by us from the best breeders in the country. The young sows are some of our very best and have proven to be strong producers in their previous litters. Breeding selection is something that each of us enjoy as much as any aspect of raising hogs. There have been a few lively conversations over years while selecting boars, but in the end we think this set is mated ideally! Boars have been carefully selected for each female as if we would farrow them ourselves and to ensure that we continue to make them better and better every generation! While this was an event which we has taken a tremendous amount of planning and effort to prepare for, we found ourselves very proud as we assembled this catalog of the offering. We’re looking forward to following the certain success their new owners will enjoy!!

1 Littermate to 2-5 Class Winning gilt in Perry, GA
Mother of 2-5 is Grandmother to Honeymoon, Amplify, One Stop, and Top Shelp
Can’t Stop x Buck 1-6
service sire: Painted Red -- Due 12/24/16
I could go on and on about this pair of 2 litter red gilts and they are peas in a pod. Lets first start with pedigree. They are out of the Buck 1-6 sow that is making quite a name for herself, especially how well her daughters are generating. She is the Grandmother of 5 boars in stud today including Honeymoon, Honeymoon's Over, Amplify, One Stop, and Top Shelf. She has also produced many winners herself including a class winning gilt in Perry this winter, Grand barrow, Grand gilt, and Reserve Grand gilt at county fairs as well as being Grand gilt herself during her show career. The 2-5 gilt is stout everywhere, yet still has the sleek look from her mom. This gilt is built like a truck, great looking, remains ultra balanced, and can flat out go. This powerful gilt bred to Painted Red should make some killer red show hogs. Painted Red was the Champion Duroc Boar at WPX that brought $50,000 will a killer pedigree behind him. His sire, He's the One had an incredible run this summer and the mother of Painted Red has been a generating fool for Knight Genetics.

2 Mother of 7-3 Problem Solver x Can’t Touch This
Reserve Grand Gilt IL State Fair Half sister to 7-3
Off Label 15-3 x Problem Solver
service sire: Watch and Learn -- Due 12/26/16 The 7-3 gilt is a beast of red gilt with a killer pedigree. She is a direct daughter of our old Problem Solver sow that has generated more winners than any sow on the farm. She is Mother of the Reserve Grand Gilt at the IL State Fair in 2013 as well as the Reserve Duroc Barrow at Denver the same year. She is the Grandmother of the Wilcox Barrow that has been Grand and Reserve Grand barrow on the IJSC as well as 5th Overall Division 2 at the WPX this summer. The Off Label 15-3 gilt is tremendous in her build, awesome in her look, yet so rugged and massive from nose to tail. This red female bred to Watch and Learn should be lights out. The Watch and Learn boar is one unique beast with a killer pedigree. He brings extra stoutness and bone with tons of power yet still very correct and balanced. This will be a really good litter.

Can’t Stop x Buck Cherry
service sire: Attention -- Due 1/1/17 This is one of those those offerings that should never be for sale, but we are committed to selling our very best in this December bred gilt sale. First off, the pedigree behind this female puts her in the elite category alone. Then after you study what this one has to offer phenotypically in addition to being bred to the World Record Selling Duroc Boar, Attention , she quickly becomes the sale feature. Her mom raised the 6th Overall Barrow at Indy in 2013 and a class winner/3rd overall Div I at WPX in 2015 and this is one of the last of her daughters we have been able to retain. This is a young red sow that is ideal in her build yet has that extra look, extra mass, and extra bone to make big time gilts, barrows, and boars. When looking at the breeding list this fall we knew we needed to use Attention becasue of his look, stoutness, and athletism but most importantly from a pedigree standpoint. So it was a no brainer to use this boar on our very best young sow. If you are serious about making a splash in 2017 in the red breed then this is a good place to start.

4 Mother of 19-1 Crazy Face x Bone Collector
Grandother of 19-1 $4500 BRED IN OUR DEC. 2014 SALE
Bone Chill x Crazy Face
service sire: Bluegrass -- Due 1/1/17 We have had one goal for this Bone Chill daughter from the momment she hit the ground last summer, and that was to be a highlight in our December bred gilt sale. This is one of those females that fits the mold of today's showpig as well as any I have seen. At the ground this one is square made, up high she has ideal mass and shape, and from the side she is as flawless as you can make one. This belted gilt is the epitome of femininity, while standing on a monsterous set of feet and legs, and on the move this one has that extra gear needed to win the major hog shows. We are really high on this gilt but even more excited about how she is bred. We were fortunate enough to raise Bluegrass this summer, who was the $40,000 Grand Champion Crossbred Boar at the STC purchased by Hipoint. We are extremely confident in his ability to make champion show hogs that have bone, body, look, soundness, and that coveted blue belted color we strive to make for the showring today. BIG TIME GILT with a BIG TIME LITTER!

5 22-4 is sired by Honeymoon back on Honeymoon’s Grandma
Mother of 22-4 is Grandmother to Honeymoon, Amplify, One Stop, and Top Shelf
Honeymoon x Buck 1-6
service sire: Get In -- Due 1/3/17
If you are one that is intrigued by pedigrees, this offering should do the trick. This is a Honeymoon daughter, back on Honeymoon's Grandma. When we made this mating, there was a plan to keep all of the gilts in the litter but we thought this 22-4 was a unique opportunity and she needed to be on the sale. This gilt has unmatched style from the side with a killer head and neck while being dead level and super tall fronted. She combines that great look with big legs, a monster rib cage, and great width and mass coming and going. Phenotypically this one looks the part but her pedigree is even more impressive and she is line bred for even greater predictability. To top off this tremendous offering, we add Get In to the equation to raise the bar even more. This boar was the popular $65,000 boar from Duncan last year and he has had a great start to his career so far. This is one UNIQUE offering!

All Knight Long x Anticipation
service sire: Class Act -- Due 1/6/17
This lot outght to get your attention. This dark red gilt is one stout boned, massive individual. She is out of All Knight Long back on the Anticipation x Buck 1-6. That sow is a littermate to our $9,900 bred gilt a couple years ago and is the mother of the One Stop boar standing at Purple Power. This is one rugged made gilt with big legs, a massive hip, and monster rib cage all while staying ultra good looking and super flexible on her feet and legs. Class Act needs no introduction to the red breed as he had an incredible first season. The syle, balance, and extension of Class Act coupled with the bone, body, and mass of this 7-4 should be a HOMERUN for sure!

service sire: Feel the Burn -- Due 1/8/17 I could go on and on about this pair of 2 litter red gilts and they are peas in a pod. The 2-4 gilt is an absolute smoker. She is tall fronted, good looking, yet stout in her features and can motor. We feel this foundation type female bred to Feel The Burn is one of the most impressive offerings we have put up for sale. We were very intrigued by the pedigree on Feel The Burn and after talking to those that saw this boar in person I knew he needed to be bred to our very best. BIG TIME BRED GILT OFFERING!

8 Mother of 8-2
Littermate to 8-2 4th Overall gilt Madison County
Visionary x Sugar Daddy
service sire: Bluegrass -- Due 1/9/17 This 8 litter cross gilt is out of tremendous Visionary litter in which we kept 4 of these gilts to build our crossbred herd around. She is a littermate to the 4th Overall gilt at the Madison County Fair this year and we feel this gilt was one of the best crossbred gilts we have raised. The 8-2 is flawless in her build with great extension through her head and neck combining that killer look with a big foot and stout bonework. She has the look, stoutness, body, and mass and bred to a boar we couldn't be more excited about. We were fortunate enough to raise Bluegrass this summer, who was the $40,000 Grand Champion Crossbred Boar at the STC purchased by Hipoint. We are extremely confident in his ability to make champion show pigs that have bone, body, look, soundness, and that coveted blue belted color we strive to make for the showring today. Best Man x Pointmaker
service sire: Nasty Words -- Due 1/24/17 This Best Man blue gilt does so many of the things we have come to expect from Best Man daughters. She is dead sexy from the side while being tall fronted, level made, and she stands on big legs. This gilt is extremely wide and square underneath giving her the unique ability to combine width, bone, body, and extreme extension and look in one package. We felt Nasty Words was a steal at the STC as this boar was as good as any this summer. He may not be out there in any one way but he puts bone and mass into a fault free, balanced package. We are extremely excited about Nasty Words mated to this geek necked Best Man gilt!

Mother of 16-4
Class Act x King II
service sire: Amplify -- Due 1/26/17 The 16-4 gilt is one stylish critter. She is sired by Class Act who is one of the hottest red boars in the breed coming off of his first season. She is out of a King II sow that goes back to our original Problem Solver sow that help kick start our red program. We are extremely excited about the pedigree on the bottom side of this offering and how it matches up with Amplify. This is a boar that was raised by Joe Eggers and out of a Royal Flush x Buck 1-6 gilt that was purchased from us a few years ago. The Buck 1-6 sow is another foundation for our red program so we couldn't be more exiced about the pedigrees behind the gilt and her litter as it matches up 2 of our key foundation sows. This is a very intruiging bred gilt!
Amplify (service sire)
Reserve Grand Ft. Worth Out of the mother of 11-2
Living Legend x Revolution
service sire: Dynamic -- Due 1/26/17 This is another cross gilt that was destined to be a feature in this December sale from the get go. This one was top of the class in the summer crop last year that we decided to hold over to be a key offering for this sale. She comes from a proven pedigree as she is one of the last daughters out of the Revolution sow that raised the Reserve Grand Barrow at the Fort Worth Stock Show in 2012. This Living Legend gilt is a beast of a female by putting stoutness, mass, and muscle into one package but also gives you unmatched style and extension while staying extremely balanced and correct. This is top tier cross gilt bred to a boar that hit me extremely hard at the Crossbred Classic this summer. Its no secret I like a good blue boar and Dynamic is no exception. He is one that I feel can had bone, body, and mass while giving you that killer blue color we all try so hard to make. Big time gilt bred to a big time boar that should produce a big time litter in January.

CLEAR SKY(at Upperhand) 3KYkS4HE,IMITX.523% Red Sky x NURSE (Doc 100k x 74-1) service sire: Rise ‘N Shine -- Due 12/27
INCREDIBLE young sow with a rare combination of power, look, and strong maternal characteristics. 29-10 is one of our keeper gilts from last Fall that is out of the popular Red Sky boar at Upperhand and the extremely popular yorkshire sow ‘NURSE’. Nurse is the $11k Reserve Grand York gilt from the STC that we purchased with Platt Showpigs. While she produced some really good ones, including the CLEAR SKY boar that was at Upperhand, we feel this 29-10 may be the very best individual we had out of the Nurse. This pic and video was take right before she headed into the crate in early August. She kicked out 10 Pitboss pigs and was a great momma in her first time in the crate….those pigs were very popular to our early visitors buying pigs this Fall. Many people will flock to the gilts in the bred sale season, but if you’ve been farrowing for long, you appreciate that there’s a great deal of added value in these young sows that have already proven themselves and matured….We push ourselves to offer some of our very best in our bred female sales each Fall… We feel the video speaks for itself…NO QUESTION this one is ELITE!

TRUE IDENTITY #fL X4HE!NSWh
Sire: True Identity service sire: FIRST CLASS -- Due 1/4
Here’s a red gilt with SPECIAL PIECES! We picked up this TRUE IDENTITY gilt from the Butler family after she won her class down at the NJSS in Louisville. She grabbed our attention for her incredibly high head carriage combined with extra muscle shape. This one can get pretty fancy from the side and has the added flexibility and soundness of structure when you put her in motion. Like many of our Durocs this season, we took her to FIRST CLASS which we raised last season and is housed at Premium Blend. This mating is certain to be attractive, square, and sound….the absolute keys to win red shows these days! We are really excited about this litter’s potential next season.

GRAND GILT IN ST FAIR LIhMATETO CLASS ACT x IMPECCABLE x CRACKIN DOWN service sire: FEEL the BURN -- Due 1/4
ELITE GENETIC PACKAGE!!! 12-9 is one of the littermate females from our very best litter produced to-date at TRES. Her littermates included ….. FIRST CLASS, the extremely popular boar housed at Premium Blend…..the GRAND OVERALL GILT at the Indiana State Fair shown by the Utterback family….the GRAND OVERALL GILT at the Showpig Planet Jackpot Show shown by the Taylor family….and other winners across the state. 12-9 is the result of many generations of breeding progress here at Tres and we couldn’t be more confident in the genetics that back this female…. they will consistently be competitive or win Duroc shows at any level. She’s mated to a boar that we feel could make a big splash next show season in FEEL the BURN, housed at SGI. He’s one that also back with powerful genetic package and was one of the favorite young sires out this Fall. If you are looking to make a big move in the Duroc showring, take a hard look at this bred female!!

Sire: Visionary Son service sire: POCKET TEE -- Due 1/7
NO HOLES with a KILLER LOOK…We picked up this painted up gilt from Curt Hannon & Family this past spring and she’s been a great investment. She’s looked better everyday of her life and we think has the potential to be a strong generator for years to come. We love this gilts width and correctness of skeleton and her added dimension and rib shape. 28-3 is just ultra-complete one that’s not messed up anywhere and can strike a killer pose. She’s mated to the boar called POCKET TEE which is popular calico boar from the Classic that Rodibaugh raised and was purchased by Crossroads Genetics. We had the fortune of seeing this boar as he matured prior the Classic and always admired him for his structural correctness, added bone, and cool look. The offspring of these two could be cool marked and are certain to be sound structured with plenty of muscle shape. These could be big-time players.

16 QUEEN (King) MOTHhOF
IMPECCABLE x KING service sire: CAN’T STOP -- Due 1/7
The IDEAL MATING! We think this young Impeccable x King female could be mated perfectly to the CAN’T STOP boar at Upperhand. 21-9 is out of the sow we called QUEEN which was one of the most impressive red sows we’ve had on the place. Like her mother, 21-9 is an extra-dark pigmented duroc that is so powerfully constructed about her front 1/3 with an incredibly high head carriage….she’s square built, ultra-level and smooth design, and has the added feature which reads to a generator. In our experience with these genetics, we feel the Can’t Stop boar on this Impeccable x King line is a no-brainer to work and could be a homerun! Every year there are a few litters of Durocs across the country that are truly ELITE and generate multiple champions or stud boars….the line between the really good litters and those ELITE litters is very fine….Truthfully, we can’t guarantee which mating will cross the line of really to great ones. However, we know this one has a chance with the predictability of the genetic lines on both the top and bottom side. We like this red female quite a bit and love the mating!

CALLIN’ DIBS x WALKS THIS WAY service sire: PLATINUM -- Due 1/20
STOUT and PRETTY! Study the video here and then study the pedigree of this future litter and we think it reads show barrows deluxe!!! This was our pick of crossbred gilts from the Rodibaugh sale last spring from a phenotypical and genetic standpoint. The Walks this Way sow line works at producing consistent high-quality crossbreds and the Callin’ Dibs boar (Visionary son) made his mark in this past season. We stuck her to the PLATINUM boar at Top Cut which was the $70k Warren boar at the Crossbred Classic that we think stole the show down there with is incredible look, design, bone, muscle shape, and perfect set of feet and legs. This litter at this age could produce some killer barrows for those August state fairs! While it hurts to let one with this much potential go…we are looking forward to following the success the new owner will have with this special female!
