And I am not being frivolous now, either. solo piano
Travis Just 2009
And I am not being frivolous now, either. solo piano - Cymbals are placed on the lower strings of the piano from A0 - B3 (the lowest string to B below middle C). - Rubber is placed on the upper strings of the piano from C4 - C8 (middle C to the highest string). - Both cymbals and rubber should be weighted or wedged firmly enough that they mute the strings almost entirely. Some pitch content should be discernable. - The rubber must be cut so that individual strings may be unmuted during the performance by an assistant (part given below). - The rhythmic notation is relative-durational:

- Metric relationships should be avoided throughout. - Breath marks ( ’ ) indicate a brief pause. - Accidentals affect only the notes they immediately precede.
assistant: rubber removal Using a stopwatch, every 30 seconds remove the pre-cut rubber on the given pitches in the following order until the end of the piece. Not all rubber need be removed.
