FOLGOSO DO COUREL Folgoso do Courel, in the middle of the Courel Mountain, is the municipality of the caves. One of its best preserved caves is the so called Tralacosta in Paderne. We must also highlight the forts such as the Fort of Vilar and the Fort of the Tower in Sobredo, and the authoctonous forests, as for example the amazing Devesa de Rogueira and Devesa de Paderne. Its Chestnut Fair, was declared of place of interest of Galicia, taking place the second weekend of the month of November, alternatively in Folgoso (even days) and in Seoane (odd numbers). The chestnut and the wine are mixed for two days with a musical sphere and typical craftwork of the area. A FONSAGRADA A Fonsagrada is the entrance door to Galicia through the Primitive Way to Santiago de Compostela. It leaves the visitors senses with a lot of surprise not only for its spectacular mountain landscapes but also for its exquisite gastronomy. Here the king is the “butelo”, stuffed meat made of pork chops and many condiments, which is exalted the previous weekend to the Carnival Tuesday in the “Butelo” Fair, with a great recognition in the whole province. For the most gluttonous one, they must taste the “cake of A Fonsagrada” elaborated with cream and almond.

FOZ Foz is one of the most prized places of the Mariña Lucense, with more than 20 km of white soft sand, excellent gastronomy and important artistic-historic heritage, where we must highlight the Basílica of San Martiño of the VI century, the most ancient one in Spain. In its festive calendar, we must underline the days of the parties of its saints, Carmen Party, about the 16th of July, and San Lorenzo party, on the 10th of August. The Norman Party, which was created very recently, embraces a lot of visitors every year, remembering the Viking past. Its celebration can take place on the last or penultimate weekend of August, depending on the tides, since the open sea is necessary for the recreation of the Norman landing.
