Glebe maintenance out-of-hours works From Tuesday 2 to Sunday 14 January 2018. What we’re doing Transdev Sydney, operator of the Inner West Light Rail, and our partner companies are working together to help improve our network and manage operational noise. Although most of this work will take place during daylight hours, we will also undertake out-of-hours activities including: •

early and late access to the Railway Street Light Rail Access Gate, which is located opposite the intersection with Darghan Lane

night-time rail track maintenance and replacement in the Glebe tunnel.

It is important to us that we continue to offer the Glebe community a reliable, safe, and high-quality transport service and infrastructure improvements are just one of the ways we plan to do this. We understand this work may have an impact on you and your neighbours and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

How this affects you Noise and traffic impact •

Between extended daylight hours of 6am and 8pm, residents can expect to hear intermittent noise at the Railway Street Access Gate associated with work parties’ arrival, loading/unloading of equipment, and movement of track maintenance vehicles. Road traffic controllers will be on site to manage traffic when maintenance vehicles access the gate. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Where possible, maintenance vehicles will park inside the rail corridor and our contractors will use local public parking areas only as a last option. Contractors have been instructed not to block resident driveways.

Residents can also expect to hear intermittent noise at night between 6pm and 6am related to rail track maintenance and replacement works, such as rail-cutting saws and the movement of mobile equipment and vehicles.

Further information During the associated Light Rail network closure from 1-14 January, Transdev Sydney and our partner companies will also undertake daytime trackwork activity in the Glebe area, including rail grinding, welding, and replacing ‘sleepers’, the wooden slabs between the tracks. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
