The Star to Fish Market improvement works From Monday 1 to Sunday 14 January 2018. What we’re doing Transdev Sydney, operator of the Inner West Light Rail, and our partner companies are working together to improve the track, embankment and rock-cutting areas from The Star to Fish Market light rail stops. It’s important to us that we continue to offer the Pyrmont community a reliable, safe, and high-quality transport service, and infrastructure improvements are just one of the ways we plan to do this. Our daytime activities will include: •
removing vegetation like weeds (and some limited tree removal)
removing loose rock fragments to reduce potential rock fall hazards
bolting rocks to the embankment to better support areas of rock cuttings
replacing existing rock fall mesh and installing additional new mesh, and
applying reinforced shotcreting to rock faces to smooth and reinforce surfaces.
In addition, night-time track maintenance works will take place around the John Street Square light rail stop on 11 and 12 January. We understand this work will have an impact on you and your neighbours and we appreciate your patience and understanding. The NSW Environmental Protection Authority has been notified of these planned works. We also consulted the Office of Environment and Heritage, and Sydney Trains Heritage Division.
