Volunteer Spotlight Rich Cunningham Training, Inc.’s board secretary, Amol Dalvi, extended Rich an invitation to one of our breakfast meetings. Rich and his wife, Sally, donate to other organizations that provide the basics of food, clothing, and shelter, so he was excited to learn more about Training, Inc. believes the idea of helping others help themselves is more productive. “The clients at TI want to be here; they aren’t here as a requirement of another program. They are motivated to change their lives, and are making the investment in themselves to do so. Education and jobs turn the crank on the economy. TI is helping a lot of people turn the economic crank. One of the things that I really dig about TI is the number of military veterans it serves. These men and women have served America, putting their lives on hold and in harm’s way. I’m humbled by their sacrifice. I feel honored to serve them through TI." Rich has been a volunteer at Training, Inc. since 2011 and believes there are two reasons why others should get involved: “First, if people want to help our community’s disadvantaged get on the road to long-term self-sufficiency, TI is a great program to support with their time, talent, and treasure. Second, from a practical standpoint, TI has a 30-year track record of results: 5,000 served; 91% job placement; 83% 1-year job retention; 3:1 return on investment to the community. It makes good business sense.”
It's that time of year! Time to open the windows, let in the fresh air, and get to work! We want our office to truly reflect a professional atmosphere for our trainees as well as staff and visitors. To accomplish this, our office could use a good scrubbing! We provide the cleaning supplies, you provide the elbow grease. This will include going through some different areas of the office to purge and organize. This is a big project and we need as many helpers as we can get! Please join us Saturday, April 28 from 9am - 1pm. We have a lot of fun on our Saturday volunteer days and we look forward to seeing you there! There will be plenty of coffee and snacks to go around. Please contact Katie Short to let us know you can make it! You can email or call her at firstname.lastname@example.org or 317-264-6740 ext. 11.

His speech was about his own personal struggles while finding the pathway to his current career. It was very informative and easily something our trainees related to. Doug is also a volunteer at Training, Inc. and we value the knowledge he shares with our trainees!
