The Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Centre (AMAC) is a state-of-the-art, lean facility featuring high level technologies at the forefront of today’s manufacturing and engineering industry.

The AMAC offers the opportunity of professional development for manufacturers and engineers through powerful and bespoke training.

PROGRAMMING SIEMENS NX 10 Customers will be able to utilise the NX 10 to programme faster and engineer parts quicker. Driving efficiency and offering greater control within computer-aided manufacturing. Allowing the development of 3D designs which can be thoroughly tested, NX 10 allows the complete design and visualisation– improving productivity and accelerating product engineering.

MAZAK SMOOTH CAM RS Our programming suite includes the latest from advanced technology solutions provider Mazak, with their new ‘Quick MAZATROL’ interface – offering enhanced functionality for the control of multi-axis machining. With a high spee d display of tool paths, delegates will be able to future-proof their skill-set and give extra value to their employer.

MACHINING DMU 75 MONOBLOCK The DMU 75 monoBLOCK is at the cutting edge of manufacturing machinery. It offers five-axis simultaneous machining with the best features you will find on any manufacturing shop floor. With the ability to load the work area from above without difficulty and 750mm travel on the x axis, this machine offers high-tech as standard. Delegates will be able to immerse themselves in the preparation and operation of the DMU 75 monoBLOCK and gain an excellent insight into 21st century manufacturing and engineering.

MACHINING ECOMILL 50 A prime example of a modern CNC universal milling machine, our ecoMILL 50 is a flexible piece of equipment whilst remaining easy to operate. Delegates will benefit from gaining hands-on experience with the ecoMILL 50 – increasing skills and knowledge in equipment which is sure to be more frequently seen across the manufacturing sector over the coming years. This effective machine drives productivity with modern, user-focused operation which helps operators exploit its full power and potential.

ECOTURN 510 AMAC customers will have the opportunity to work on a modern turning machine which combines a high level of productivity with easy to understand operation. Parts can be engineered utilising the machines state-of-the-art drive technology which includes utilisation of both C axis and Y axis with driven tooling and a turret with 12 tool stations. The ecoTURN 510 offers a flexible and highly productive CNC turning solution, and customers will gain skills which are instantly transferable to their own working environment.

INSPECTION RENISHAW CMM

PH10 3 AXIS PROBE This CMM system offers program controlled probe re-orientation, and allows the inspection of work pieces at differing angles whilst avoiding stylus cluster changes which are time consuming and harm productivity. Providing 720 repeatable positions, delegates will be able to fully understand how this dynamic, modern piece of equipment operates, expanding their knowledge in a way which is directly applicable in their own job role across the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

REVO 5-AXIS MEASUREMENT SYSTEM This is a flexible system which utilises the latest 5-axis technology to provide a innovative measurement system. Delegates will be able to gain an insight into CMM technology and the ultra-high measurement speeds it delivers. The AMAC benefits from a unique environment in which to develop and improve CMM knowledge, through a training programme which provides skills for the present and prepares them for the future.

A N A LY S I S A N D I M P R O V E M E N T TECHNIQUES We operate a ‘lean toolbox’ environment which allows continuous change to take place through analysis and the interpretation of data. This, kaizen, or ‘change for better ’ is at the heart of everything we do in the AMAC. Course objective: Delegates with limited machining experience will learn to safely operate a complex machining centre to maximise quality and performance, safely set and operate a multi-axis machining centre. Delegates will be able to select and run a CNC program utilising 5 axis capabilities.

Target group: Course attendees should have experience of basic engineering principles and commonly used inspection techniques. The ability to read engineering drawings is mandatory together with an understanding of geometrical tolerancing.

Target group: Attendees should have a working knowledge of CMM programming, and must be able to read engineering drawings alongside a good knowledge of geometrical tolerancing.

Course objective: Introduce new and experienced users of co-ordinate measuring machines. Understand the principles of part alignment, and how to perform a CMM calibration, alongside the first principles CMM operation and programming.

SHOP FLOOR GAUGING

(Programming)

Course objective: Build on current knowledge of co-ordinate measuring machines. Understand advanced princ iples of CMM programming and performing CMM calibrations.

Target group: Engineers who wish to develop their skills in fully utilising gauging equipment. Course objective: Become accustomed and gain practical experience with equator ’s gauging technology, learn how to configure and apply the gauging system within a manufacturing setting, operate software and gain knowledge for both manual and automated operations.

Course objective: Delegates will gain knowledge in lean manufacturing techniques, and how a technical understanding of machines and their processes inform analytical and decision making skills – delivering the most efficient means of product delivery.
