Overview: The Americans with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990 and amended in 2008 (ADAAA). The Act prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals based on disability. The section of the law we will cover is providing fair practices in employment and protection and support of qualified individuals with disabilities in the workplace. Complying with the law is essential, but actively pursuing this segment of the population is a plus both in the area of public policy and in finding a source of high quality, loyal and motivated employees.
