"Boomers," "Gen Xers," "Millenials" reflect different cultural values, communications styles and work attitudes. Research reports that this may develop into unintentional affronts as well as miscommunications resulting in lost productivity and (more importantly) lost cooperation. Managers and administrative personnel must be aware of the demographic dynamics in their organization and be better able to respond to them. Employees at all levels should have sensitivity to the issues that arise from working within a diverse organization, even if your boss is old enough to be your child!
Areas Covered in the Session:
A statistical overview of the current demographic trends in the American workforce. An understanding of the cultural differences between each generational group An awareness of the dynamic issues/concerns/motivations for each generational category Knowledge about what an organization can do to increase awareness among the generational groups.
