My role in the THR Frsico project included work throughout the hospital and MOB buildings. I completed work in the construction documents that included MOB and hospital lobby floor pattern plans, cafe elevations with interations of material finishes, reflected ceiling plans, millwork details and more.

STEREOTOMIC TECTONIC

Station 3 Ann Arbor, MI

This project exposes the life of the firefighter by exploring the space within both stereotomic and tectonic architecture. The fantasized daily routine of cooking, cleaning the trucks and working out are exposed in a permeable ground floor, while the more private un-entertaining programs such as reading, sleeping and bathing are hidden within the stereotomic second floor.

PERMEABLE EXTENSIONS Location: Can Batllo, Barcelona, Spain

Can Batllo is an abandoned textile mill that is in the process of being reused to create community spaces for the local neighbors. Given a specific building within the complex, the goal of the project was to create a new space that all members of the community could use. He solution was to design a space that felt open and welcoming to the passing neighbors. Permeability created the welcoming atmosphere while extending the form for additional programming allowed for more uses to benefit the neighbors.

Practice Session No. 6 | Point Supreme Location: Athens, Greece Practice Sessions are the result of the Third Century Initiative at the University of Michigan. The biannual event invites a firm into the institution to rethink the way architecture is taught in schools through a weekend long workshop. This workshop was a collaboration between 20 students and Greek architecture firm, Point Supreme. The urban project focused on the revitalization of the public square in front of the National Archaeological Museum. Each group had a program to implement within the public space. My focus was on the event space. This aimed to be a generic architecture that added to the potential of the public space as a whole and to the city of Athens. My part in the workshop, paired with the planning and rendering of the centralized event space, was a large role in the representation of the final image.


HOUSTON MUSEUM OF WASTE Location: Montrose District, Houston, TX

The objective of the HMOW is to benefit Houston’s community as a whole by raising awareness of today’s excessive waste while providing experiences that reveal the individual’s role in altering the future of our quality of life. Our inspiration was driven by giving field trip students an experience they would want to bring their parents back to. An easily circulated exhibit space is connected to the administrative structure through light in a large cental atrium.

DISCIPLINED OBJECTS This course examined unwilling objects that resisted formal definition. The focus of this project was a lumpy bean bag. The object was domesticated through appropriatipn, repurposing and deployment of representational tools. Multiple section profiles of the bag were taken and combined in a new way to create a formal object and then the perspective of the object changed to represent the object in one drawing in different lights.


SERENBE CAFE Location: Serenbe, GA

Serenbe is a planned community outside of Atlanta, GA. Studio professor Phillip Tabb is an architect involved in the development of the community. Each team was asked to create a social gathering space for the community members and visitors to enjoy. Our inspiration was driven by giving the residents of Serenbe a place to eat, socialize and relax. A restaurant was created along with a nearby pool with cabanas. A tall tower to be able to enjoy the rural views of Serenbe was designed as well.
